Does anyone play classic without raiding? What do you do?
I loved playing classic during leveling, but I felt burned out on raiding schedules. I barely raided, mostly MC and ZG pugs. Now I’m itching to come back, but I don’t want to raid regularly anymore.
I’m thinking of either starting a fresh new character, but at the same time I don’t want to abandon my holy pally main.

Go ahead and make a new character, theres no right or wrong way to play as long as you’re having fun. Try some new professions out, or do some pvp

That’s pretty much my situation. I’ve tried raiding on multiple different characters, but, it’s just not my thing. I’ve pretty much decided to level alts the whole time.
For me, leveling is the best part of classic. I love doing the 5 mans, I love questing, hell, I even like just grinding out some xp on mobs.
I figure there isn’t much point in me playing an aspect of the game that brings me no joy.
Long story short, you are not alone.

dude i only play this game to kill people in the world . ITS LIKE FREAKING RUST!
That’s the nice thing about classic. You can play how you want and aren’t forced to raid in order to enjoy the rest of the game. Questing, 5 mans, pvp and exploring the world.

I do.
I craft, I world pvp, I level alts/farm rested xp on my 9 alts/grind/dungeon. I auction stuff. Occasionally jump into a 60 dungeon if I feel like it. Maybe help some people do their low level dungeons.
I’m at 4690(4860 with shield) hp unbuffed on this shaman and 5620(5810 with shield) hp on my alliance warrior, both never won a piece of raid gear.

I had consistently raided up until July, but for now I am taking a sort of “raiding break” by moving to overflow. Raiding can be fun but its not the end all of wow and its good to sometimes find other things to do in your wow-time. For me its making money through Dire Maul tribute runs and world pvp.
I didn’t like 40 person raids so I knew when I started I wasn’t going to raid in classic. I like leveling and the favorite part of the game for me was always 5 mans. I like 10 man raids and I’ve done an occasional 20 man. 20 is ok, about the biggest I find fun. I’m just casually leveling up alts so I have several 60’s ready to go when BC comes out. I’ll get more serious about the game in BC and hopefully Wrath too.

What makes you think that this game is going to be replaced by TBC?

Well no one knows for sure but it seems likely that BC will come out in some way. Not necessarily replacement but added in some way. The success of classic, the likelihood that BC would make as much money, the survey etc. It’s an obvious good business choice for blizzard so they’ll probably do it. And if BC is as much of a success as classic Wrath will probably follow. Even though I and most people don’t want it, if Wrath is a success Cata will probably be released too. The cost to release it is so low it’s a good gamble. I’d guess Cata fails and is the last classic version of the expansions. But we’ll see.

No but why are you sure that you will be able to use the same characters from classic? The other expansions will happen but it will be on different servers, replacing vanilla is not a good move and I don’t think they will do that, by releasing each expansion separately they will kill every private server out there and I want WOTLK not because I really like the expansion but because I want Warmane to die.
I’m not sure of anything. I thought I was clear about that. I’m making the best guess of what I think blizzard is likely to do. What seems to create the least problems for the company. What you think will happen is unlikely imo because it will create the most number of angry players and the most number of players unsubbing. But no one knows for sure. This has been discussed to death on other threads and I’m not going to hijack this thread to rediscuss it here.

Do what’s fun for you, there’s plenty of other things to do.
Depends on the class. Ele shams can get away with not really raiding and just rank. A good Sl Lock with r10+ is nice also.
I don’t raid at all. TBC is when I’ll get more serious about endgame content. I’ve already saved up enough gold that I’ll want to have in TBC. For now I have just been levelling new characters and I’m having a lot of fun.

I just make and play twinks, mostly 49 / 59. I can get bis without all the raid loot drama, world buff nonsense etc. And the pvp itself is infinitely more fun than lvl 60 where it’s all about HPH and non-stop premade verse pug. Not to mention all the legit lvl 60 rankers who get banned from false reporting thanks to the automated system.

raiding is all there is though, pvp is dead
if you hate the raiding then you don’t really want to play this game and should look somewhere else
Surely you can’t be serious lol
if you play classic for pvp, in phase 5, that’s pretty cringe
How is making dedicated servers for each expansion going to create the “most number of angry players”?
