Does ANYONE like RNG gearing?

I am guessing 99.99% do not. It is even worse for PVP players. It is a joke to PVE RNG gear for competitive PVP.

Also, you can invest a lot of time and effort into this game to progress, while your guildmate does absolutely nothing and gets better gear than you. That is a recipe for "goodbye Felicia"

I can’t think of many RPGs that DON’T have RNG gearing, especially MMORPGs.
Gearing has almost always been dependent on RNG to some degree, whether it be straight up drop chances or random people which can either make things easier or harder.

But if you're good, and you queue a lot, you'll get good pieces real quick. I'm already getting RNG drops starting at a base ilvl of 360. PvP gearing seems decent right now.

Fair enough via that point then
I was hating it till tonight when I finally got a 2 that was not 330. Now to get one for my other hand. : /
even if your good, if RNG doesnt like you that day your not getting gear no matter how good you are

also, as your ilvl goes up of course the gear dropping goes up,

but again no matter how good you are if the gear doesnt drop you DONT GET GEAR
and RNG can cost you in hours/days/weeks and before this PL system
you COULD GET GEAR at a steady pace as was your CHOICE

Yea it's fine. There are a reasonable amount of ways to get deterministic gear

Please do tell where this deterministic gearing is?
I love RNG. If it was all uniform i would hit a wall too fast. Titanforge keeps me doing stale content. That keeps more people in game. More people to help noobs. Win win

Sounds like RNG was kind to you. Because if its not, you will never hit that wall, ever.
Nope i enjoy having to run something 1000 times to win the stuff

It makes it more fun to win

I like the possibility a item in a regular dungeon could forge to insane lvls

gambling is fun

Grinding gold for boes.
Grinding rep for rep gear.
Grinding dungeons for BoP craftable gear.
Grinding conquest for conquest gear.

To a lesser degree, climbing to a high rank for your pvp cache, and climbing to high M+ for you M+ cache, which while random, WILL give you high quality gear.

You also have rng mitigation with fate tokens.
Hmm rng huh, i seem to recall that was always here. You have better faster gearing than ever, heck everyone is epic'd out without even stepping into a raid. I remember when unless you raided, and few did..you never saw an epic. You would be lucky to get a blue. And yet you people complain, we are 4 weeks in and most everyone has epics. Go back to the good old days where even 4 months in you didnt have epics.

They made this game so easy to gear is stupid really.
rng mitigation with fate tokens....except when bboth tokens give you more gold then you just looted

#fail chances
#make the dice 33/33/33 aka = parts chance at loot gold ap
instead of this bull!@#$ 25 sided dice we have now
The game has always been RNG. To pretend otherwise is lunacy.

I think I ran my friend through lbrs over 40 times for his Beaststalker shoulders to drop.

Just "randomly" wouldn't drop. Strange, right? And back then we didn't have lfd to just re-queue.

If you really were around in 2005 then you already know this.

Because you rolled poorly doesn't mean it isn't mitigation.
I would actually support, however, replacing fate tokens with a one token a week that 100% grants loot from the sources you're rolling on.

Boe being on the AH is Rng. The Boe dropping in the first place is RNG
Grinding Rep gear- the rep gear is already ( if not almost) outdated by the time you reach the rep
Craftable gear was outdated ages ago, and the expansion was just released.
The conquest gear is literally Rng.
Pvp cache- Rng
M+ cache- Rng

I really dislike Titanforging in it's current form.

I've severely reduced my playtime due to the RNG. I don't feel my time is worth the "chance at an upgrade." I'll do my raids be done. I want to earn gear, not "have the chance to earn gear."

Absolutely

Now see that's how opinions can differ. I love titanforges and love a chance at upgrades. Cause even running the same stuff can upgrade gear.

Oh you know how people like to exaggerate how bad it is, esp when they conveniently forget how much worse it used to be. I seriously have to laugh whenever someone complains about rep grinds or gearing in wow now. Im like are you serious lol.

The cost of that gear is fixed so I can naturally figure out how many dungeon runs I would need to do in order to get a upgrade.

We had Justice, Honor, Valor and Conquest Points.

Now we have loot sharing via "Do you need that?" messages.

ty for the mvp envolvment here, its nice that a green takes a stance that is not "pro blizz fan boy"

We have our own opinions.

Some people like Titanforging. (A lot like it.) And they have very good arguments in favor of Titanforging.

I'm oldschool in the sense that if you aren't doing to most difficult content, you don't deserve the best gear. You don't deserve even a chance at the best, no matter how slim the chances. If you want to get better gear, do more difficult content.

And again, I'm fine with Thunderforging. An item from Normal having a chance to bump up to Heroic level? Totally fine. An item from Normal having a chance to go to Mythic quality? I'm against it entirely.

I see this point as well. However mythic let alone mythic wasn't even in the game during old school wow. I think if it was old school wow I'd agree with this.
Justice, Honor, Valor and Conquest Points

And now you buy off rep vendors, whats your point here? No matter what currency used in wow, and there have been a lot...you still relied on drops that are and always were rng.
