Does anyone know what happened to Shadow Syndicate?

So for those of you who don’t know there was this massive guild back in 2016ish called Shadow Syndicate that had 8 million sister guilds and guilds trying to copy them. They hosted massive social events and were known for being general menaces around the server (by organizing things like mount parades which would disrupt people’s rp). There’s no trace of them nowadays and I’m wondering what happened. Was there some sort of cataclysmic falling out? Were they bludgeoned by the ban hammer? If anyone has any information (even if it’s just rumors) please let me know!

I was a part of this guild for a very short period of time back then. From what I heard the guild leader was involved in some kind of cheating scandal with another guild member. The amount of drama in that guild was insanity.

Okay, after doing a little research here is what I found:

They changed their name to, “Symmetric Chaos” as a revamp. There was some drama as the OG owner of the guild (who was pretty absent) “Shadow” kicked out all of the other guild leaders who were keeping the guild active, due to drama and disputes (and cheating from what I recall). On the fb page, one of the kicked-out leaders made an announcement about how member numbers were down, and the guild was basically a ghost town all because of the OG guild leader’s actions. The Facebook group for the guild was archived like 4 years ago, with talks of revamping it again, but I don’t think that ever happened (as far as I know). The guild still shows up on WOW head but with like 6 inactive members. So, in summary, drama. lol

I was in there for a brief time and was friends with some officers at the time of its creation. Like many big-names guilds of the time, it basically imploded due to egos and erp drama.

I founded this guild with my friend Zotice, who was THE OG. We specifically created it to start a massive guild, him and I started the Charter for it. I made The Events like “Shadow Syndicates: Guild Pride Walk to Raise Guild Awarness”. Zotice and I the Chapters like Shadow Syndicate III, and I was responsible for making the guild massive by recruiting all the members. The guild was later passed the guild to an active officer at the time. This was of course Before Shadow ran the guild, I think he was one of the Officers at the time? There was so many in the beggining, Starting with The Shadow Counce. I remember there was a point that the guild was so big we stopped playing WoW all together and just ran the guild. It really was a blast. I was telling a friend about it just now, and Googled Shadow Syndicate to see what popped up, and I found this post. I was LIKE SEE! SEE! lol. Pretty excited to see people talking about it 2024. WoW. I have some guild Lore… if any one is interested.

I really want to have more folks to do mount parades with. Been slowly trying to build a cross faction and cross realm community for awhile now that does fun stuff like this.

Not so sure I would encourage or even want folks to yell so much though if we did something like this.

I am going to try again during MoP remixed to recruit a bunch of folks to level up and do whacky group combos for that mode.

If anyone is interested in helping me make a fun mystical fun travelling caravan that can exist in multiple RP realms become a thing. Hit me up here, or whatever. This guild seems like it would have been a lot of fun. Happy they had a good ride.

Zamir, were you around when SS was up and running?

I have to say this. This guild was great and what made it great was the Officers. I’m talking:

Zotice - Original Guild Leader, overseeing strategic decisions and structural changes. He was Amazing, and people followed him everywhere.
Stabby Original member, had made time for events even though he had tons of stuff going on outside, he always made time.
Oreo - Commander of Chapter Two, integral in chapter management and operations.
McCarthy - Strong commander, deeply involved in guild leadership discussions.
Fairy - Commander of Chapter Three, recognized for strong recruiting capabilities.
Traina - Marshal of Chapter Three, valued for her leadership skills.
Sam (Salinora) Marshal position in Chapter Three, active in guild leadership.
Cake - Raid Leader and important officer, known for her experience.
Sully - Awesome leadership potential, involved in discussions about commanding positions.
Lotus - Awesome Leader, noted for her significant contributions.
Clarissa - Active guild member, known for engagement in guild activities like trivia games She won all the gold from the events and smoked everyone cuz she typed at like 1000 words a minute.
Nikki - and her sister had roles in guild operations.
Anibis, Baddock, Trellis - Huge involvement in various guild activities. Honestly the list goes on.

I’ve been around since Cataclysm, but I was never in this guild. I played a little bit in Classic as well, but it was on my brother’s account when he wasn’t playing.

I was definitely around during Legion. Played early part of it in an all Pandaren RP guild on an RPvP server. Then played in a Criminal Cartel guild for the rest of Legion.

I am just a fan of dedication to a cause and organization like that. From leaders of said events to those who still cared enough to show up in like matching mounts and stuff. It shows a group of people all dedicated to the idea of doing something really cool. I dig stuff like that.

Hey it’s Justin aka Zotice. Shoot me a text at 918 408 6326. We’ll catch up.

I’d uhh, hide that number. Otherwise ya aboutta get SPAM

Hi!

I was in SS back. Character name was Pannzer. When Zotice left - he left the guild to me. Myself, Star, Shadowvein, Stepnwolf - ran it very well for sometime. Think we had it up to 6 chapters. Always active, 30+ events a month. Great fun.

Right before BFA came out, Star and I were bored (and Stepn was dealing with some RL stuff) so we decided to try a new game FFXIV - to see if we could create on FFXIV what was going on in WoW. During the time - was when Shadowvein kicked everyone out - took everything - and then pretty much just did nothing - tanked the great thing that SS was.

So in a sense Shadow Syndicate still lives - just in another game. I took all the things that Zotice taught me about what a guild should be, what you should give to those players that are there - and we did it in FFXIV. We are one of the top guilds there - and have been since we went there. In all the years we have been there - we have always been super active - we reside now on 2 servers - and share our discord, events, etc.

There was a lot about WoW that I grew bored of, but SS was the best thing that I experienced in my many years of gaming.

The guild was ran by a schizophrenic lunatic. I was a co GM of this guild. What simply happened was, the guild decided to merge with another larger guild. The GM of shadow syndicate grew to be unhappy with the merge and one day decided to mass kick everyone starting from the top. The rest is history.
