I’m upgrading from a 3600 and want to know exactly how much better the performance will be playing this game at least. It’ll pair with my 6600 GPU and 32 gigs of memory behind a 3440x1440 monitor until I can upgrade the GPU, just for reference.
May want to move this Thread then to Here.
Its where all WoWs Tech Nerds are
if you just search on youtube for ryzen 3600 vs 5700x3d, there should be multiple videos that show side by side FPS comparisons across multiple games.
Some of these guys post nothing but such comparisons for about every head to head comparison you could think of.
But to save you some time, the 5700x3d at the current sale price of under $200 is going to be a massive upgrade for you.
I’m on a 5600 and thought about going to a 5700x3d as well, but I think I’m going to hold out and see what the new 9800x3d can do and decide if I just want to upgrade to the am5 platform.
I should also add that your monitor resolution and gpu will play into it a lot as well. If you’re gpu bottlenecked, a cpu upgrade isn’t going to do much.

I was able to keep everything on ultra and not get a lil slow down like I did before when things got crazy in raids.
Well worth getting one while they are on sale and such. 6750xt and was same res but recently went with a 4k LG C4 and still have the UW beside it, lol.
WoW is one of those cases where upgrading just the CPU can make a big difference. I have a 4070 and went from 3900x → 7800x3d.
With everything maxed out at 4k, sitting in the middle of Valdrakken, I would get low 40s FPS on the 3900x. Just switching to the 7800x3d pushed that over 60. 3000 → 5000x3d should still be quite solid.
This person is 100% right! I tested both the 7950x3D and 14900k in the exact spot in Valdraken back in DF. They were identical rigs except for the CPU. Same exact GPU. Sam Ram kits. Both tested on Area52 Server both characters standing in same spot next to each other. Both the 1% lows and average FPS were better on the 7950x3D. This was @4k Resolution max Settings

Yeah, after this i just need to pair it with something a little bigger than the 6600. Preferably AMD.
