I think it’s getting to that point, for me, like if Blizzard fails on Shadowlands, that’s it, there is no redemption and it is time to move on. It is obvious the developers are disconnected with what we want, or just corporate greed has made so the developers create sub-par content like this to keep us subscribed. I don’t feel like a game should feel like work, it should be fun, and right now there isn’t fun. I don’t know, maybe I’m just venting blindly, I just don’t like the game right now.
If it’s not fun it’s time for you to move on now tbh. I don’t love or hate the patch. But Im still having fun playing it, so I stay.
It was pretty frustrating to only get 1% per kill for the fill-the-bar quests. Blizz is making the most boring content drag on for no reason.
Not really. If something doesn’t interest me or if I think it is poorly done I just pass on it and focus on something else.
I’m NOT even going to purchase Shadowland cause I know deep in my heart its going to one big FAILURE. Which is sad for a game I loved sooooooo much and played for over 10 years now. I will continue to play Classic or leave all together and find something new.
They’re pretty much just milking us for every last bit they can get.
I’m at my limit, if Shadowlands doesn’t offer better non-M+/raid/WQ content I’m out for good. Last xpack. I was actually thinking about refunding Shadowlands but I don’t think I can now that I used my boost.
Blizzard won’t be giving up. They have already stated they will be around for another 2 expansions, and likely another few more after that. I don’t care how bad the game may get, because games need to evolve and that requires experimenting. Not all of their ideas are going to be masterpieces. I intend to stick with WoW until it has concluded the story that has been weaving for the past several years.
Where do you move on to? I like this type of game only. Other types of games bore me.
At the same time with broken quests like killing a Nazjatar rare, Tickles, and that manta ray quest, sometimes you feel like quitting. I wish there was another great game to go to. WoW has never been more vulnerable to losing their customer base if some other company can come out with a truly great game.
That’s the dilemma, there really ins’t a MMO like this. I find myself bored, especially when I stopped caring about mounts, so I have no motivation in collecting them anymore. I just want to get the raid done to finish the story, and Im done after that, until Shadowlands.
Right now, ESO is the better game for me, it’s far better as far as casual content goes. I don’t even mind paying for their yearly xpacks even though they offer less content that a typical WoW xoack. It’s a quality vs quantity thing when it comes to that.
Although I’ll still be counted as a Blizzard MAU because I still play diablo now and then and I’ll probably still post on the forums when my sub runs out, but maybe I shouldn’t seeing how things are going with WoW. Pisses me off so much, I kinda don’t even want to support them at all anymore.
I think the main problem is keeping people interested. Honestly it’s a surprise WoW has lasted and stayed as popular as it is. I’ve played since Vanilla, and I take breaks, just like other friends I know. But I also know people who just have had their fill of the game and no real interest, not only in WoW, but the MMO genre in general.
I won’t even think about buying Shadowlands until after I hear feedback about the beta or even reviews after release.
Currently looking for a different game/game(s).
WoW is likely dead IMO.
No it isn’t dead. It’s a long, long way from dead. Only way WoW dies or at least falls lower is if another game comes out to replace it. Been keeping track of these MMORPGs for years. The only way these games die is when they are replaced. So far no one has beat WoW, since WoW beat Everquest.
Dunno if u venting, mechatrolling or just frustrated. But come on, look at those penetrating blue…um goggles.
How are you gonna goblin glide off into the sunset away from that!?
Sub fall off after 8.0 was very steep. I’m not sure how many are subbed now but it’s low enough that they didn’t even bother making a proper 8.3 patch.
Classic is prop’ing the game up atm, but that can’t last forever. We will see how much good will they have lost when Shadowlands released. My guess is a lot.
Just leave. Good lord
Not really. They are still the biggest MMORPG out there by a good margin in the West. Not sure in the Asian nations. It’s wishful thinking by certain folks to think WoW is anywhere close to dead. I’ve heard this wishful thinking for years.
Not saying much since every western MMO is dead/dying.
There is nothing wrong with Blizzard experimenting but they seem to either scrap content that people enjoy or stick with content that people dislike. Then there are changes seem designed just to make things harder for players. Look at rep tokens in BfA. Instead of them being BoA tokens, that can be sent to alts they now just reward rep as soon as you get them. For players not interested in paragon rep chest that removes some of the reason to do things for rep tokens.
Scrapping gear, while a good idea was okay but the removal of the gold value for some armor was unnecessarily punishing to players. I would rather have the gold than mats. Which leads into professions which are, for me personally, a mess. I dislike having to run dungeons to craft gear that is not even top tier. Just let people sell the mats…well maybe once the AH makes sense again.
Overall it seems that Blizzard decided to experiment with ideas and concepts from Diablo 3 and GW2. They did so without really thinking about why those ideas and concepts work in those games. If the player base would really enjoy and embrace them as well. On top of that they added layer after layer of tedium in order to pad the content of the game. It has gotten so bad that I back to camping spawn sites for mobs because their spawn rates are so long and faction tagging makes that worst.
For me this is an xpac where I have not at least leveled my core characters and most professions. I have not even collected all of the pet charm pets and I love pets. There is just something off about the whole thing.
