Does Anyone Even Think About Flying Anymore?

Every day. Would love to know how many times i need to see the content on a ground mount before we get flying. I have leveled 13 characters to 120, Is 14 enough? 15? 20? Just let me know and i will level another 1 or 5.

the minute i hit draenor with an alt, i start to miss flying. mind you, i use aviana’s feather a lot so i don’t miss it there so much, but still.

When I came back after a couple of years away… I hopped on my alt in their Garrison and saw this in my inventory… not thinking, “Hey, I can just mount and fly”, so I clicked it and boom… up I went. It was a lot of fun to remember the good 'ol days.

Although, mind you, I haven’t used it since because I can fly. but still, when we don’t have flight, we do get fun alternatives at times.

I was commenting to Verde speaking about how it USED to be. I tend to not “deliberately” omit anything.

Do you use the herbalism hand enchant? You can usually gather and run off before mobs can do anything.

Thank you for clarifying to Aehl. It kills me when ppl simply go off a comment, and not make an attempt to check to see if it’s a reply to someone before attempting to be snarky, or act as if they know what point was trying to be made.

I think about flying each and every time I have to travel somewhere in the world. I think about it when I’m defeated by terrain designed to not allow travel from A to B but instead B via five different points. Terrain that is impassible but doesn’t look impassable and in other places similar looking terrain is just fine.
I think of flying a lot.

I have both the glove enchant and use sky golem. I also typically have like 20 mobs on me and refuse to dismount and kill them out of spite, because I’m too busy raging in my head “imagine if I could just fly up and reset all this garbage.”

Don’t get me wrong, I maximize it as much as possible, but I remember the good times where it didn’t matter how many mobs you pulled because you just ignore them via flying away and want that back.

Flying became irrelevant for me when Warmode went live. Because really, that is the only reason why I wanted flying asap.

To avoid getting ganked on the ground.

Immersive. lol many think of flying. People want flying. Just because you don’t doesn’t mean others don’t. I don’t recall your 15 bucks being more valuable than mine.

EVERY SINGLE TIME I LOG IN! That is how often I think about flying…

As a mage I get around the world pretty easily and quickly, but I think about flying every time I play and miss being able to skip stupid mobs that no longer give experience and very little reward in bothering to kill them. It’s pretty easy to bypass all the mobs anyways so there isn’t much challenge being stuck on the ground and I don’t feel more immersed when I can ride a mount through a hostile village or town with no real consequence.

I REALLY HATE FLYING!

I really only do it when I have to. Getting to the airport and waiting in those lines makes flying terrible to me!

Just have insta tele’s to everywhere on no CD then if you hate the game so much lawlz

I really encourage all those that hate flying to avoid getting pathfinder achievements and really show your love for ground travel by opting to not fly! I mean just look at OPs dedication to not flying, he doesn’t have either pathfinder achievement and certainly saved himself gold by not buying flying.

Hmm let’s see yesterday. Going to do a world quest slow fall off a ledge on my mount, hyena hits me from a range that would make an Olympic Pole vaulter jealous - daze - dismount. Another world quest unnecessarily deep marsh pool slowing progress to a crawl because I can’t fly and don’t want to engage in virtual fishing. So yeah, I think about it.

At the risk of exacerbating the insecurities you’re projecting, allow me to correct your solecism:

I love this game. It allows me to to do things, and to BE things, that I can’t in real life. One of the best features they ever introduced…and in my opinion, one of its grandest freedoms…is the ability to fly. Very little adds to the indulgent feeling of heroic power than too imagine yourself capable of riding a dragon through the clouds.

Blizzard claims that their chief priority is making the game fun…and up until WoD, they understood how important flying was to this concept. Then they made the serious mistake of determining that reducing content development costs was more important (to them), and tried to eliminate flying altogether. The player backlash was a momentous threat to their bottom line, and they grudgingly re-introduced it…but even now, they spitefully make us wait until the waning months of each expansion before allowing its return.

Now that you mentioned it, just now I almost died after falling off a cliff in Drustvar. I’m usually terrible with horses, but some wings won’t hurt either. Especially if you’re on your way to see turtles make it into the water.
