On Classes that have an easier time with less buttons. Such as Ret Paladin, Destro Warlock, Havoc DH, MM and BM hunter. I’m just curious if anyone else happens to use a controller for classes that it is viable with because they are more used to the controller then a keyboard
I use one to play this warrior, though I don’t use the new mapping system that was introduced with the expansion.
Before the warrior I played Ret, Hunter WW Monk, and DK. Used to do tanking over my Paladin in Wrath.
i used an Atari controller to play as Demon Hunter.
but i had more buttons than i needed.
I do sometimes for like dailies or running trivial old content, using a PS4 controller.
I will when I buy a controller.
Dual shock just feels right.
I recommend using a controller built for PC and console compatibility as they tend to have way more buttons to bind making it more useful.
For levelling and questing it’s great. I still have to properly configure all my keybinds to make it more optimal. I wouldn’t try to heal or do dungeons/raids with it, but for just going around levelling or doing world quests? It’s great.
Do you actually play a Ret Paladin or just think they have very few buttons?
I mean i could do my core rotation with a controller, but I need way more buttons than that.
Being a Feral Druid, I would have no idea how to get everything down. I don’t even have enough room on my normal ui for everything.
I used to back when I started in TBC, and I still remember the buttons. I had used a PS2-like controller with Joy2Key.
Square - Fireball
Triangle - Fire Blast
Circle - Scorch
L1 - Blink
L2 - Remove Curse
L3 - Dragon’s Breath
R1 - Polymorph
R2 - Frost Nova
R3 - Blast Wave
Select - Counterspell
Start - Tab Target
…
X - Jump. Because come on, X has to be for Jump.
I play wow on my Rock Band drum set. When I play my DH, OG Nintendo controller. Sub Rogue, tamagatchi.
ESO, I use L1 for Sprint and R1 for Jump, combined they Dodge Roll.
I tried it and it was pretty great, but broke my controller yesterday
time to buy a new one. took some getting used to though
I have a nice Logitech USB controller.
I recommend it, especially if you are used to the Sony DualShock.
Thanks. I’m at a restaurant and you just made me LOL. Everyone is staring at me now
Now you listen here you little ****
FF14 designed the game around the PS3 controller before launch and they did a great job. Works the same with PS4 controller. You have instant access to 32 skills and can add more hot bars if you want for less used things. 32 skills with button combos and never need to move your fingers or thumbs more than an inch.
Glad to help pal!
