I killed all those same mobs on this toon and none of them were hard. Am I that much better player than you?11/09/2018 08:20 AMPosted by Ryuk11/09/2018 08:12 AMPosted by Hugurmugg...I splatter mobs all the time. Tell me which mob was mean to you, and I'll go splatter them for you.
Come kill all the mobs I fight on my alts from 116 until I'm 320+ ilvl. That'll about cover it. From that range scaling is straight up garbage.
I like scaling and really hope they find ways to implement it more.

I know at first there were a lot of people that were against it.
Now you dont hear that much about it. I cant stand it, and it
has really soured me on the game.
Anyone else still struggling to accept it?
** I want to add a bit more to this**
With the scaling I just feel like I am getting no where. The way it was the more you lvl'd.. the more you lvl'd your gear.. the stronger and more invincible you felt.. the faster you could clear content...it felt like you were accomplishing something. Now everything feels grindy to me because it is lacking that kick butt factor that USED to come with lvl'ing and gearing up.
I guess its just not fun anymore. :(
Scaling isn't that bad when you're 340+ You will notice things start to die much faster. It's only felt during the early 120 stage with crappy gear. The only thing that scales is the mob's hp too. They don't hit you harder or anything. And the hp scale isn't that large of an increase.
It isn't a struggle of killing stuff. It is the feeling of no progress. There is no sense of accomplishment in finishing an area ever.
I actually really like the scaling. Sure it is taking longer during 60-80 but during that time you are doing WotLK or TBC. Those are the best WoW has to offer. And you complete it, you get MOP which isn’t bad.

As for leveling scaling, if that is what you meant, I think it's the best change they ever made to the early game and would only prefer if the entire game scaled.
Of course you do, thats why youre an mvp. What kind of MVP would you be if you were not a white knight for blizzard.
I still hate it the iLevel scaling. And I actually hate the scaling in general. I always enjoyed having areas where I could go and farm safely after my toons were at max level. Now? There is never a safe area anywhere. That get's old.
And the effects of the iLevel scaling is it's causing me to play less, and where I would normally be leveling my 20+ alts to max level. I have 3 at 120, and that's it. It's just too painful, it's not fun anymore.

As I have never been a fan of Facerolling I am liking it a lot.
It killed progression.
You leveled up? Cool, you got nothing and you're weaker because every mob leveled up with you, but your gear didn't level up. (non-heirlooms)

White Knight = Anyone that ever says anything positive about WoW.

They NEVER say anything negative about WoW though.
Funny thing about this scaling.....
....there are times it comes in handy when I need to have a consistently strong levelling experience every time I'm questing...
...then you got the times I have to kill this tough quest boss and he scales with me so I can't outlevel him/her like I could in other MMOs.
Other than the fact it makes no sense that my enemies are basically riding on my coattails, I'm neither fully against it or fully for it.

Keep in mind folks, level scaling mostly isn't for those of us that have been playing for years. Its for those new players that are coming in for the first time.
They don't want a game where they start leveling in a zone, start learning the story, then suddenly everything becomes grey and the mobs just become a chore while you try to finish the quest lines. That's not fun.
With level scaling, the mobs stay relevant while the story plays out. Who wants to get to the final "boss" of a story line only to smack him in the face once? That's not rewarding.
Sure, those of us that have seen these stories probably just want to level an alt quickly for whatever our purposes, but Blizz is looking at retaining new people rather losing them after a one month sub.
We aren't the target market for level scaling.

The sense of accomplishment is in finishing the area? What more do you need? Why do you need to power trip over poor little quest mobs? Aren't you overpowering them already? From the time you enter their zone?11/09/2018 03:50 PMPosted by ElestialIt isn't a struggle of killing stuff. It is the feeling of no progress. I hate the way Blizzard has done scaling.
Blizzard has level scaled zones, but still flat levels the content to the player. If you are going to retain zone levels then at least level the player up or down to the content so that groups containing members of different levels are all fighting the same level mobs.
Better still, just scale the world and everything in it to be the same (like ESO). Players still retain progression and power growth and can play anywhere.

I hate scaling but that's why I use lotion and never had any problems since. I like the warm vanilla sugar...good stuff.

Scaling is fine for leveling content. Ilevel scaling is what really feels terrible
11/08/2018 09:01 PMPosted by HealbotuserI hate it but it’s beating a dead horse.
I mainly hate it because my holy gear is really high ilvl and my ret weapon is only 350 and trinkets are all healer trinkets, so I have to kill mobs that scale to 390 in effectively 355 gear.
Lots of fun... all because they have no stat stick trinkets available and can’t get any ret ones since anything might titanforge and be an upgrade for my holy spec.
I was so glad to finally get a 370 weapon. Made a huge difference. My offhand is still 355 but stuff is still dying much faster. I feel your pain as a main spec healer.
Its like bliz saw other games' leveling experiences and said "yeah lets do that!" then proceeded to botch it in every way possible.
LvL scaling = ok
Item Level scaling = boring and fail !
