Does anyone else have a hard time going to sleep?

I always have a hard time going to bed, I try making my bed three times, by pushing my mattress all the way back to my headboard and make the rest of my bed again. This usually helps, but sometimes I have to do it an extra time.

This sounds more like an ocd issue keeping you up to me but I’m no doctor

Perhaps anything that can help calm you down before bed might help idk

When I have trouble going to sleep I usually browse Twitter, TikTok, Reddit, or the Wow forums until my eyes are too tired and I just fall asleep instantly.

I have to be tired enough for my brain to shut off.

I do this by finding the most boring thing to watch on Netflix, and sometimes within 10-15 minutes of relaxing in bed, the screen glare, and a really boring show I am ready to turn it off and go to sleep.

When i get that way there’s several ways I deal with a hard time sleeping ,one rum and coke just one would do it for me. Two,pick the most boring reading i can find that doesn’t stimulate my mind (normally it’s any thing dealing in numbers and figures the more complex, the more my eyes go crossed)

Xanax and rum & coke no sleep problems

In college, my dorm gave me a special “Most Likely to Sleep Through Nuclear War” award.

So no.

Chronic pain tends to keep me awake. Its juuuuuuuuust enough to keep me from going into full rem sleep.

The relief basically has a long cooldown before my body is like “Okay NOW you can sleep”

There’s also the anti anxiety meds that do make me sleepy but again. Pain still keeps me juuuuust awake enough so I’m sleepy all the time.

I find Chamomile Tea helps me get to sleep.

Nah, I fall asleep super quickly.

I’m scared of ghosties, goblins and things that go bump in the night. I never sleep :slightly_frowning_face:

I did when I was heavy into this game. But, exercise helped me get back into a healthy sleeping habit immediately. The day I started exercising is the day I started a good healthy sleep cycle again.

So I’d give that a try if you don’t do it today.

I get to the point where I don’t want to go to bed. I’m so into whatever I’m doing in WoW I just want to stay up lol.

Usually not anything too bad, but I tend to go for periods where my sleep quality is mediocre followed by periods where it’s consistently great. Have yet to figure out what the root cause of that is.

It can be more difficult on days that I skip Beat Saber on. I need some level of physical exertion to get to sleep quickly.

I know you’re probably joking but this reminds me of me in middle school. My paranoia and anxiety were so bad I wouldn’t go to sleep until I heard the birds chirping early in the morning. I have no idea how I was one of the “valedictorians” during middle school promotion, lmao.

No jokes. I “sleep” with a small light on. I have since I’m a baby and now I’m almost 60. Go figure :worried:

Oh damn, I’m sorry, man. That night anxiety is freakin horrendous. I slept with a night light until like two years ago and right now I’m a senior in college.

I heard that trying to sleep by browsing on your computer or phone is a bad idea, because electronic devices produce blue light and that keeps you from falling asleep. Sounds very conspiracy theorist, but I’ve also heard, that’s why a lot of really big apps use blue color schemes on their interfaces.

I have trouble getting to sleep (always worrying about my job, which is high pay, but lots of management). But once I do, you can drive a truck through my house and I won’t wake.
