Sometimes I get legitimately annoyed that so many of the 30-40 year olds that make up 90% of wows player base still play boring pve against scripted computer run characters. I feel like if this game was balanced around pvp it would be so much better. Would be much easier to adjust boss fights / abilities if they were tuned for pvp
Solo shuffle is different from this how
I legit don’t get how people enjoy PVE. Isn’t it just like school. You have to MEMORIZE mechanics, and then when it’s raiding time, that’s your Quarter Exam.
PVE is just so non-dynamic, if only they made the bosses/dungeons dynamic/self-thinking AI, where you have to actually sit and plan and adapt per encounter, would be fun.
As it stands now, PVE is no different that a Data Entry Finance Job.
Keys are feeling more hectic than arena.
PvP benefits a lot from memorizing what you and your opponents can do and when.
I hate RSS too. to be fair
Have you ever played arena
Have you ever Q’d in to ret warrior in 3s?
321 bOlT hOj MayBE KiLl
the amoutn of storm bolts I fleshed in shadowlands was replusive because 100000% of ret warriors no matter how high the MMR did literally the exact same thing
As a pver who also loves pvp despite being very bad at it, I think it makes sense to throw a few bones to pvp players. They are the ideal players in my mind because they make the content for each other. Unlike raids where they demand a new one every year with several complicated bosses, new visuals, new models, new loot tables and new zones.
Honestly I only do pvp for the 1.8, once I get ma Moggies I am done, pvp becomes a side thing for boredom fun.
Thats why the player base Loves RSS, they no longer need 2s n 3s.
High keys are pretty tough, have you done any?
^^
this is exactly how I feel.
I used to do pve only and raid from semi casual up to mythic raiding (not a whole bunch of M+). I can’t believe it took me until mid SL S1 to make the switch. Jumped ship and never looked back. I wonder how good id be if i did pvp from BC on.
You have to do that in high keys.
And have to do that with high keys as well.
Knowing what to bring to what dungeon, what route, who is popping what CDs when. If a mistake is made how can you effectively recover or should it be a wipe as to not waste time. Then affixes come into play and can make some classes struggle.
Unless we have everything with AI that knows to ignore tank and every boss and trash mob decides to be random it has to be fairly predictable. Some bosses like dragon in Darkbough where it randomly selected one of two mechanics to start with, and if you positioned for the wrong one it was a wipe.
I like both content and wish Blizz showed more care for the PvP side.
oh not saying they aren’t tough. Mythic raiding is really tough but all i know is eventually they will nerf it or people will learn it / out gear it and it becomes much easier. PVP will be different always. Yea there are some “scripts” but they are loose templates and you can never really predict what a player will do next.
High level pve def not easy though
what do you expect when PVP is such a neglected mode? i mean they dont have new BGs, they dont do anything other then make sure streaming and e sports works for arena and quite honestly its not that appealing for a lot of players because it really isnt very fun , normal bgs just sucks and sort of a pointless grind, and rated bgs are a nightmare to get access to for most players so your option is arena and solo shuffle which is still just arena. I mean really there isnt much there.
Wait you have to memorize mechanics for pvp too.
PvE is inherently better than PvP. PvP is a perpetual fountain of frustration for most players. You deal with insane logic, class balance being thrown out the window, FOTM specs, and healers being literally unable to die 1v1 to dps.
The entire foundation of PvP is centered around denying fun to another player. Except 50% of the time YOU are the other player. And if your class doesn’t have ways to get out of “no fun for you” mechanics? Might as well not play. Example: RMD - Rootx3, Clonex3, Bash, Vortex, polyx3, gouge, blind, Sapx3 - oh, what’s that? DR is up on root again? the cycle starts anew as a new hand touches the beacon. You can break one of those with trinket. Otherwise? Enjoy your blanketed 2min long CC chain.
Or… I can go clear a timed +20 with my friends and have fun, with the only frustration point being that my friend listens to crappy music and I can hear it over his mic.
It’s the same skills in PvP and PvE. One way to attain mastery in PvP is to know each situation well enough that it becomes scripted. Another part of it is obviously thinking on your feet, but that is also true in PvE.
I can’t comment currently, but pvp use to be the most populated mode for years but still this game keeps getting called pve
95% of arena is memorizing mechanics and how to avoid/react to them these days
I Like Both PVP and PVE
PVP my prior But Wow PVE still a Great experience
Its just to much effort to enjoy PVE
If only PVE gearing same like old times
when only normal hc dungeon - normal HC Raid ILV
Gearing system at PVP miles better than PVE
The major boon to PVE that PVP doesn’t have going for it is you never lose progression in PVE. You ever log on and queue for 2 or 3 hours only to have wasted 2 weeks worth of effort that you’ve got to now farm back before you can even think about pushing again?
Most people do not enjoy that, plus PVE is easier typically speaking. Stuff like raiding/M+ is good content for getting off work and winding down for a couple hours, or being goofy in comms with people. Honestly the best way to get PVP to be more mainstream would be to incentivize RBG participation but in order to do that Blizzard would need to do something about the freaks at higher MMRs who make people not want to do the content just to avoid them.
