I think its just a lack of abilities and passives that work together. Like even ret palli has more going on with its abilities to make it enjoyable than Frost has. I think Frost just needs a little more love as far as the weaving of it’s combat goes. Like rogue for example has bleeds to keep active and combo points to build and spend big finishers along with buffs to use on yourself like slice and dice and its poison’s. It all plays together to make a more engaging combat system, which in turn is more fun. Death Knights used to have more to use with Icy Touch and Plague Strike and both of them having a DOT and a lot more abilities to use when fighting.
I’m not saying Death Knights need a thousand more abilities but right now they’re definitely lacking and making the gameplay for them very boring.
If Frost Death Knights could have Plague Strike and Icy Touch with both their DOTs back, and a few of their other old abilities, it would make things fun again.
Thoughts?

It was fun in Wrath. After they took tanking away from it I went blood ever since.

I enjoy it, but I don’t like the cooldowns honestly. I prefer it to unholy but my favorite spec, by far, is blood for my cute little deathdwarf

on the flip side, i absolutley love unholy
Iike it since the rotation is simple enough that I can do it when I am drunk or half asleep.

This. There needs to be BM and Frost Mage, Fury and Bear. Not every class can be tedious and high skill ceiling. There needs to be a balance with easier/slower playstyles for new players, disabled players, more easily distracted players, older players ect… I will shoot Frostbolts all day until my Icy Veins procs and i definitely have fun. Same with the mentality of BM Hunters. I like that i can enjoy the game and not be punished as i have slow movement in my hands due to anaccident and pure stupidity with how i used them at times in my life.

Feels fine to me. The mini-game of trying to roll your RW into the next one for massive damage is pretty fun, blowing up a pack every minute feels good with oblit, throwing out a drake with 50% extra strength and and annihilating a trash pack when you crit feels amazing.
. Not a fan of BOS but I don’t have to play it, and the 4 set is amazing. I don’t even see how you could complain about frost right now relative to what it’s been for the last few what… years? Lol. We’re in a really good spot for both raid and m+.

All DK specs have been boring to me ever since they pigeon-holed Blood into tank only spec. Ain’t no DK like a WotLK-era DK.

No. I love that there are some specs that are just very straightforward. There are plenty of more complicated specs out there to choose from. Leave the simple ones alone.

Nope. I love playing frost. I don’t find there are too few or too many things to do. If you don’t actually use our complete kit then yes, it will feel boring.
I for one LOVE smashing my buttons and then in a series of quick clicks: 1) strangulate a bone caster 2)mindfreeze the other caster, 3) death grip interrupt the third caster, 4) AMZ to spare us party wide spell damage.
Between on basic rotation and then our utility:
DA
WW
DG (as an interrupt)
Stun
Interrupt
AMS
AMZ
Lichborne + conduit for DR
Control Undead in specific dungeons
IBF
Chains (as a slow, great for necrotic and runners)
I feel like I have more than enough to do every pull.

Howling Blast felt so good as a snap aggro ability. The visual was nice too.

When I leveled my DK and was told that Frost was easiest, I didn’t believe them.
But really, you can practically level to 60 while you’re in a coma. That rotation is beyond simple.

I love frost, I could go into how the gameplay feels fun but I’ll just sum it up to TWO HANDED OBLITERATES! >:D

Pretty much this, like I won’t like; I think Frost does lean towards being an easier spec but I also feel like it has a pretty high skill-ceiling. If you are running Breath of Sindragosa build, bad FDKs will run out of breath in 15ish seconds while higher skilled players can run it for over a minute in certain scenarios.
I think Breath of Sindragosa is really unique plus we have a lot of good utility.
I find it more engaging than survival and significantly more engaging than arms. Fury just feels like button mashing and priority, there doesn’t seem to be much forethought to the spec.
NF encourages cleave positioning and buff timing because the str buff is significant. The 4 piece adds another positional element to the gameplay because GA actually goes pretty far. FWF has positional requirements because of travel distance too.
Urh heavily impacts throughput because of how our optimal m+ leggo and conduits work. If you roll RW at the right time and extend it properly you get a ton of aoe damage from it.
The spec requires timing abilities within str buff windows during overlap (FC rune proc, NF unity power, pillar, potion, maybe trinket uses, etc.). Optimal time to fire off certain abilities (FWF) is when you have as many str buffs as possible while not jeopardizing dropping RW or maximizing your cleave windows in dnd.
So if you just keep runes runes on CD and stop RP caps only, you’re leaving a ton of damage on the table. What sets the spec apart to me is all these buffs and cd wi does that have timing requirements.
DW BoS adds another layer of RP management to the spec that is missing from oblit and completely turns the spec into a different feel every 2 min.
FF RP gains, rune regen from RP, KM procs, and rime procs add some random elements that add some consistency to the kit that don’t over shadow the buff/CD windows or the priorities totally.

It’s one of the best specs I’ve played for feel and throughput and I think the complexity is a little higher than I would like to see generally. I’d prefer to move away from all these stacking str buffs (it’s too many), they significantly impacts overall dps in m+ runs if you botch windows on bug trash pulls.
