I checked out character creator and idk if it’s just my eyes, but to me, Compared to the blood elves, the textures for the Void elves look of lesser quality. Does anyone else feel that way?
they’re the lesser elves so nothing is wrong here. lesser elf. lesser quality.
Personally, I think they spent too much time making V.Elves carbon copies of B.Elves. They need MORE Void-themed options, imo, to make them different. More tentacles. More purple.
the fair skin still has blood elf red nail polish
yeah, but how often are we really looking at our nails?
it sure does ruin purple mogs when the nails are red
I think the concept of a void elf was dumb. I respect that people want more void options. But boy howdy, am I glad that they gave us nonvoid. Cause theyre as ugly as draenei facetacles
know your place fel junkies
I’m of the opposite opinion. I think the classic pale skinned, blonde hair, blue eyed Tolkien elf is boring. The Dark Elf archetype is more my speed. Plus, the Void/Old Gods are one of my favorite parts of WOW.
I hope you get your options because I am actually satisfied with the non void
ig that is true if you dont wear gloves and ur cloth wearer.
Can’t say i can really tell, but there might be some truth to it. Someone pointed out in another thread that the preview for Velves had different body textures. Quite a bit more muscular. Not at all what went live.
Blizzard probably changed their mind late into development and rushed out the current textures to meet the deadline for the BFA preorder bonus.
Alliance folks complained (and I guess Belf players too) that they didn’t get their High Elves/Silver Covenant which doesn’t really exist anymore, lol.
So Blizzard ultimately capitulated, and bam, same race on both sides now.
I hate elves so damn much- imo they ruined the identity of the factions.
They’re too damned popular, and since Blizzard likes money, they bend over backwards to give us four different breeds of elf.
Not Night Elves, though. They’re still cool, original gangster elf race. The ONLY elf race I respect, lol.
Could’ve had arrakoa as a race or something else really cool, but nah, elf.
it was a mistake giving void elves non void elf skin, yall are void elves not high elves.
…I think they would look neat wearing squid masks but that’s a random thought. ![]()

I’m more concerned about newer customizations if im being honest. A lot of them are just lazy or just bad imo
Night elf tatts now look like electrical tape especially the eye ones. Much preferred the older ones. And speaking of new tatts the newer ones all have smudges that they could have fixed before adding them
With draenei, manari, would have loved to get fel scarred options as well as them being absolutely shredded physically. But nope they decided to be lazy. They could have used the files already ig and it wouldn’t have took much work to add them in. And because of this laziness, i feel like we missed out. They current options look okay. But when a toy “Jewel of hellfire” looks more like a manari than what we got, that’s when i became salty.
And the nightborne look like crap. They tried to fix them with new eye options, but they still look bad.
Void Elves have a lot to be addressed, customization being one of, but not their most pressing issue (in my opinion).
Right now, it honestly feels like Blizzard doesn’t know what to do with them, but then again, it doesn’t seem like they ever had any idea what to do with them at all. Their creation came off strongly as an attempt to appease players who wanted playable High Elves, with a significant misreading of the room in terms of how popular Alleria’s return was (somehow confusing the Alliance WC2 High Elven hero’s popularity for void popularity). There was also that snide spite by making the playable Void Elves come from Blood Elves, which only ended up hurting Blood Elven identity more than anything else.
It’s a mark of just how out of touch the developers really were when they reacted so surprised and then passive aggressively when there was a significant outcry against Void Elves, with greater support for High Elves. People can and will, of course, dismiss this as a, ‘vocal minority,’ but given that Blizzard are the only ones with access to meaningful data regarding the metrics of how popular something is, I’m not inclined to believe that.
Anyways, Void Elves suffer on just about every level they could.
- Their story and lore is non-existent and was completely irrelevant in their introductory expansion.
- Their customizations were lackluster and uncreative, to the point that they were the ONLY Allied Race to launch with no expanded customization categories, but the original five (Hair Color, Hair Style, Skin Color, Face, and Beard/Jewelry).
- Their, “Home,” is a slapdash mess of Legion assets thrown together haphazardly to the point Blizzard had to cut off a chunk of the Rift from player exploration because it was too easy to fall through what ground there was.
- Their heritage armor looks like it was ripped off the corpse of a Dreadlord, probably because they don’t actually have a heritage at all, considering they didn’t even exist until the last five minutes of their own recruitment scenario.
- The poster child/mascot/hero of their race, Alleria, doesn’t even look like a playable Void Elf, not even in her Void Form.
I honestly think we’re at a point where the Devs have just given up on the race and regret ever having added it in. It would’ve been infinitely far less work to add High Elves like players originally wanted, or heck, some other void-related race like Ethereals or, dare I say it, the Krokuul. The Void Elves are here and won’t be going anywhere because Blizzard isn’t about to retcon an entire playable race out of existence, but the damage has been done and they seem to have no interest at all in fixing it.
Fel or void, whatever the drug, does damage all the same.
There’s no difference in Void Elf skin textures compared to Blood Elves besides the color and shading for the void specific skin options. The quality is identical because they are just recolors of the existing Blood Elf skin textures.
To me the textures look how blood elves looked before they upgraded their textures.
