Does anyone else feel Blizzard's Cross-promotionals are deliberately confusing?

On the last day of the Blizzard sale (7th Jan) I bought the Diablo IV to get the Amalgam of Rage. At the time the splash screens on the website promoted this mount as being available. It even had ‘shop now’ under one tab that specifically referenced the mount. Clicking on it took you to the based edition (which after consulting the forums wasn’t even eligible for the mount). The websites only had a comparison table for the Diablo in-game cosmetics, there was nothing about the WoW promotion items (hence my confusion). Long story short I refunded the based edition on the same day and bought the bundle instead.

The final date for delivery past and no mount. I contacted Blizzard and they said it was because I needed to login to Diablo to activate it first. Which I did (even thought the purchase wasn’t outside of Battle net). Still no mount. Now they are saying that it was because it was purchase after 10am (the cut off), and sent me a link to a post that stated that. However, these specific conditions weren’t even on the website at the time of purchase! I’m just lucky that I still have 2 and a bit days to claim a full refund.

I guess I’m just venting here, but my questions are why do Blizzard:

-have these convoluted conditions that are scattered across multiple different places, instead of one specific clear transparent place? It seems like even the game masters aren’t always clear about that the issue is, hence suggesting solutions that don’t work or aren’t required for your situation.
-have items delivered after a certain date instead of at the time of purchase (like used to happen with cross-promotions) to make it clear whether you have successfully qualified? This just seems like a sneaky way of trying to get people to make a purchase that may or may not give them said promotion items, but by the time the distribution has happened it too late for them to make a refund claim.

It isn’t just this promotion, I’ve noticed it a few times. People confused about the terms and condition of a promotion. There being no clear answer. People referencing different articles and websites to piece together what to do on the forums. Seen a lot of questions like this on the forum in recent months. To me it’s almost as if they are deliberately trying to mislead people into purchases. As someone who just wanted to claim a cool mount this has been a really frustrating experience.
