I am also curious if WoW offered Azerothian Gold/Silver/Platinum coins would you buy them.
I don’t know much about this stuff but i am curious if folks would buy actual real coins.

I might buy some but it would depend on the quality/purity of the metals used to print the coins and what they would charge for them.
I don’t personally. However 2 co workers that I am friendly with both buy silver and gold.
I imagine they exist but are maybe too rare on Azeroth or something.
Gold is both common and rare enough that it’s become the established currency.
I have real gold and silver coins but I would not buy blizzard ones
Interesting, if they were comparably priced why not? Is it just you don’t want to give Blizzard the money for them? Or do you just prefer what is already available?
I prefer to buy other ones because all blizzard stuff looks like junk to me.
But Azeroth isn’t real so I’m confused
Who would want to buy such a thing second hand? If you did buy Azeroth Gold Pieces you’d be better off melting them down to pawn.
It is real. I live there on this dwarf here. Cold and snowy where Im from. You should come by and visit.
After all this time?
Like REAL, physical .999 fine gold and silver rounds?
I only buy if the price is right, and a lot of these private companies will make something with their brand on it and GOUGE the hell out of buyers with horrific premiums so it’ll be DECADES before you ever can break even.
Yeah, I might buy ONE coin just to say I have one if the premiums were NOT excessive.
(god I need sleep…lol…four hours the last two nights)
Probably not. I’ve read that it is difficult to sell that stuff for its market value after you get it at
Your gold bars are only worth what people are willing to actually pay you for them…unlike stocks where they will always sell for their current value.
IRL?? Sure , its a good way to ensure value. Especially with current inflation
Unless of course Musk starts farming a Gold asteroid
I own Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Platinum, if that counts.
This is true if you deal with shady sorts…ie pawn shops, private buyers, etc.
MOST Local bullion shops (to be clear, most coin shops are also into bullion) will generally give you spot or very close to it.
And if its something they can sell very easily and quickly, like US Eagles, Canadian Maples to some extent, etc…they’ll often give you over spot because they know theyre gonna get quite a bit per over spot on each themselves, so they might give you a couple percent OVER spot.
I think in nearly 40 years of being in precious metals maybe ONCE my LCS offered me just a hair under spot on some silver, but laughably I had bought that silver when it was under $12 an ounce and they were paying me over $20 because the price had gone up.
(looking at what reciepts I can find for that transaction, it appears that I had bought the silver at just under $12 way back when, he offered me 22.50, but spot was posting at 23.00 that day)
Hes actually apologizing for their being strapped and paying me a couple percent under current spot, but I was still making a killing on it even with the price he gave me.
IF you are careful when buying and you deal ONLY with reputable sellers and buyers, silver, gold, platinum…even palladium and Rhodium…are very sound investments that will outlive every fiat currency and most other paper investments onthe planet.
I only buy wooden nickels.
Nope. This is just a video game I play with friends. Unlike some, I don’t see it as an alternate reality. They would just sit in a drawer forgotten.
If the price was reasonable and it looked cool, maybe.
I used to work for a Coin Seller, he would give out silver rounds for holidays. That got me casually into collecting Silver. I bought some rounds that had neat designs on them a couple years back. I paid like 5 bucks over spot price just for the designs. Like 25 bucks total. The other day Silver hit 30, so that’s nice. Already worth more than I paid, just by sitting around.
If I could get Silver Rounds with my Characters on them, or cool wow symbols, I might pay 5 bucks or so over spot price.
Not as an investment strategy, just because I like having silver rounds with designs on them. And I like giving them out to people as gifts. It’s a little classier than cash, I think, for friends and family.
No. If I were to buy precious metals, I’d buy the physical product without any embellishments on it except for the proof of it’s purity.
