Colossus suffers from existing on the warrior class and we might as well accept that it’s never going to be all that interesting.
I don’t mind Demolish, no, though I would sometimes prefer the final strike be a long conal AoE.
The spicey equivalent there being deep dungeons where “I could move and live. Or… I could just drop this mob from 30% hp to 0 if crit and live that way. …Time to roll the die.”
(Or, more often, just pre-pop Sprint to get out in the remaining GCD time, or Yaten out or Gyoten to another.)
While I don’t think Warrior has or should have much of anything else in common with Samurai than Demolish, sometimes I do wish there was something more equivalent here in WoW too. Maybe with some Virgil and mixed-magics flair thrown in for good measure. Adept class, maybe?
in PVE it feels good, in PVP it feels bad
But that is personally though, it is rly hard to land it and even if you do, players can still interrupt in a few ways
I did a shuffle this dawn, and from all games one arms only landed one proper demolish, it did melted and killed the healer, but that was his only win from 6 games… I personally don’t like high rewards even higher risks as a mechanic like this, cause its very hard to balance, when you lose, you lose massively, when you win, its just a bogus crit
i don’t feel more “tougher” either… in fact i feel slayer survival is better with the sudden death healing proc, i still feel overall warrior survival/self heal is the worst of any spec and they have even more damage than us
Yep the elitists
Lmao, i also have the exact same problem
But in contrast, if we are going that way, i would wish wow lean more with the idea of “inner strenght/Ki” or whatever you want to call, so these supernatural powers feels more “reliable” and more to our fantasy
The spear i can imagine creating a “sword/spear ki” and aiming at the target, launching and causing the effect.
Also a cool idea i think, making the spear target someone and root him and everyone around instead of throwing in an aoe, pretty much like the Shaman earthquake have both options, would be neat and safe the work to aim
I love demolish for pvp but its too punishing for the warrior as is. The problem is that its too easy for the target to literally just walk away from the last (the big) hit. We’re constantly chasing our targets and we often need to burn an additional CD on top of Demolish to land the entire channel. Hamstring isn’t enough to force the target to burn a CD to get away. Most times they can literally just slowly walk away. Id like to see either the root go away or a major snare on the target.
I, personally, wish we Colossus had more charged attacks. High risk, high reward finesse spec where you can deal tons of damage winding attacks up.
Yeah I don’t honestly see that working well and would kind of kill the build’s feel. There’s enough of a break between demolish casts that it’s not overbearing in a PvE environment, plus that would kill the build even more in PvP.
There just needs to be a slightly larger payoff with getting off 10 stack demolishes, the auto crit idea at full stacks with crit % giving extra crit dmg would definitely help it.
This sounds tasty. Do you try to do this combo after sweeping strikes or is it an overall dps loss waiting for cds to align?
Usually after SS when prepping for a vuln phase, You’ve got at least 30s after to use the build up, but on something like Ingra you would ideally want to time it so you’re able to SS some executes onto him too for even further set-up and that the buff applies right as the phase is transitioning to the vuln.
CDs will align with it a decent amount though when prepping for a new pack.
I enjoy Demolish. I find that Jump Strafing before I press it knowing where I need to end up is pretty funny looking but protects me from the absolute worst feeling of a channeled ability, having to cancel it because I made the mistake of pressing it .5 seconds too early so sitting the full duration means i’m dead.
I love pressing Cleave. The animation, sound, and impact all feel great. I immediately noticed the jump in overall after the latest buff as well. Getting Demolish on board with a slight change would really compliment the ability with the rest of the kit.
For Arms, I really do wish they would just remove the root and the bonus DR. Make the root and DR part of the implementation for Prot Warrior. The partial CC immunity is strong enough for Arms as is. It’s not like they “can’t” do this change as many Hero abilities do vary between specs.
I’m only about 620 Ilevel but my main struggle is literally farming the remaining 500 gilded I can still get simply because i’m not getting invited. As much as I enjoy tanking, I really just wasn’t feeling it this season (maybe because i played way too much beta as prot war). Arms has just been the literal only DPS I have ever enjoyed, aside from this version of Ret Paladin.

The big swing stinks, it takes way too long to get those 10 stacks, and then the ability itself feels like im playing the slam build from classic. YUCK!
Also the size increase isnt nearly enough, I buy tons of Giant’s Elixirs for a 20% size increase for literally whenever I want. 5% doesn’t even show.
This guy hit the nail on the head.
Agree. I wish there is a toggle where we can make skills like ravager and spear go towards our current target. I know there is some use in manual aiming especially in pvp where we want to aim in front of a running player to root him or create a block in a chokepoint with ravager buuut for PVE it is just a nuisance.
Or
/cast [@player
macro can work as well, just means it drops it at your feet. Which is where you’ll most likely be using it anyways.
For ravager it can work a bit since it has large aoe radius. For spear it is mostly useless except for bosses since you are in melee range and the edge of the spear circle can touch them. But for group of mobs it will be a hassle unless you always position yourself first in the very middle of the pack before dropping it then moving out again to position for your demolish cone attack.
It’s literally just taking the worst part of the Fyr’alath Legendary from the last expansion and going: Here! You can pretend you still have your Legendary axe that you stopped using at 535!
Implementing iaijutsu into WoW would be interesting. Plus having the character just carry their sheathed sword in one hand at all times rather than have it on their belt or back would be incredibly badass.
Like Vergil.
The weakness of targeting reticule abilities really came to light in Vashj’ir…
If we ever get that sort of 3 dimensional combat again it will be a problem once again.
I hate ramp up classes. I play a warrior to just get in and hit things. I don’t enjoy trying to stack modifiers and aligning cooldowns just to get my cleave damage up to where other classes can just press a button to do the same damage.
Slayer for arms is more fun imo. It feels faster and smoother with enough rage to always be pressing something.
This is why I liked arms in WotLK through MoP. I don’t recall needing to align MS or Overpower with anything besides Colossus Smash. Overall I just prefer simpler rotations instead of this whack a mole stuff.
