Does anybody like time limits in M+?

Man are you late. Arena championships have been happening for a decade +

Yes, from already toxic people. The content doesn’t create it. People choose to be toxic.

Not arguing that it doesn’t happen, but that it’s a human problem. Best thing folks can do to combat this toxicity is run with friends/guildies.

Not at all. I didn’t agree with it then and I don’t agree with it now.

But they do belong

Just because they are there, doesn’t mean that it belongs there.

they belong there because blizzard deemed it so in their game. You saying it doesnt belong doesnt mean it doesnt belong.

Also who cares about esports? Is this the new forum boogeyman that we blame for our problems? 99.9% of us arent taking part in esports, we do things for the enjoyment. Stop using that buzzword as your hill to die on when so few are a part of the actual competitive scene

I see your point but that isn’t 100% true. For example a quest to get your BIS piece of gear could be to message a random person tell them they’re bad and put them on ignore. While none of the content in WoW is that level of toxic, some of it does seem toxic.

I mean…that person is still choosing to be toxic. Not sure what else to say. :woman_shrugging:

I’ve pugged many, many keys and raids, and I can count the number of times I’ve encountered any behavior I would consider toxic on one hand. I just do not see it to the degree people report on these forums. Maybe I’m just lucky? Or maybe it’s partly perception?

True, it wouldn’t be making them toxic so you are right. I guess instead the argument should have been for the game to not have content that strongly pushes you to be toxic.

I’d prefer if there were no timers, but I accept that it makes the content more fun/challenging for some people.

The problem I perceive is that there’s not a good way for players to divide themselves into people who take the timer very seriously and people who don’t. (And no way to progress the difficulty level if you don’t make the timer.)

I really enjoy M+, but I don’t pug it. When I run with guildies, we want to make the timer, and we try to make the timer, but no one’s hair is on fire about it and no one gets bent if we miss it. If I could reliably hook up with pugs who felt similarly, I’d do more M+.

Not at all, i think they should delete mythic all together to fix this problem.

Love them, i think they should offer nothing else other than timed content. Would do wonders

Honestly, I think it adds a level of time management. However, it just leads to frustration and trying to get “top tier” performance from players. Either needs longer timers or removed entirely.

A timer does not strongly push you to be toxic.

Sorry I guess I’m showing my age, it used to be common shorthand in emails back when we used news nets and email, and the web was just a gleam in some programmers eyes.

Sorry for any confusion.

Have a great day = HAGD

Love it because it pushes people to be better and faster. The whole idea of setting up each pull and waiting for cool downs is terrible. It doesn’t push people to be better and work out when cooldowns are required / best used

IMO, Low level keys should have a “soft timer” that keeps extending with every enemy and boss killed. So lets just say for example, + 9 sec per mob killed and + 90 sec per boss killed. This would help alleviate some of the pressure of having to deal with the timer while also letting new people get familiarized with affixes and how to handle them.

it IS a test of skill. the higher the key level, the faster you have to go because everything has a lot more hp, therefore the more skillful your group needs to be to be able to quickly clear trash and bosses.

when in a serious group running M+ i’ve rarely ever felt rushed for time. it sounds weird but it doesnt feel like you’re beating the timer, you’re just doing the route and hope that you dont wipe so that you wont miss the timer.

Sorry, don’t you know that I’m actually more skilled by pulling two mobs at a time, sheeping one of them, and using blood lust on every pull?

By what standard other than time are you going to judge performance in M+?

Without a timer, you’re left with relatively few options, like limited lives, limited CDs etc (both of which limiting time already gracefully manages).

There have to be some limits, or even pretty much the worst group could clear way above their skill level if they were willing to take 5 hours and Timewarp for every pull.
