It’s pretty unlikely at this point, but I would genuine consider taking like a week off work to try and do the Scarab Lord quest for the mount on the Anniversary servers, if it felt possible. I’ve seen people throw around dates like late June or early July, but I haven’t found an official source anywhere (doesn’t meant I couldn’t have overlooked it).
I also don’t know whether there’s any sort of date for exactly how long you have to complete the chain, or if it’s going to be purely down to hoping and praying you’re able to keep up with the most hardcore players/guilds in the world. It’s like a 8-hour window once the first person completes the quest, right?
Just curious if there’s any official info out there? It’s obviously going to be here before long, and it would be super useful to know if there’s even a chance I could get it, I might dedicate my time towards that.
Only information we have is the roadmap which states late summer/early autumn. So really anywhere from now till August 31st.
Pandaland is already announced 31st July so releasing next month or 2 weeks within that timeframe would be a bold move. Leaves late August or we get a last minute announcement this month as per the classic teams general approach to the Anniversary servers to date.
How many Scarab Lords per server? One per layer?
It all depends on how fast the gates open.
Some servers in classic delayed the gates for a month so like 90 people could get mounts.
Servers that opened first week got like… 10 or 11.
OP thinking hes going to take a week off of work and farm himself a mount is absolutely hilarious.
Yeah man good luck brother

Eh idk. With how much Blizzard changes I wouldn’t be surprised if we get budget scarab lord and budget AQ opening like we got in SOD.
I highly doubt that.
What I do think might happen is that Blizzard cuts the # of stuff required to open by like… 1/3 or 1/2.
I dont really care that we are on “mega servers” the amount of work needed to turn all that stuff in and open the gates is staggering.
The roadmap is already trash though. It said “summer” for ZG raid to release and that came out April 17th, two months before “summer” even starts.
You’re probably right due to MoP release but man… Anniversary population is going to collapse if they have p4 for another 2+ months… ooof.
Kind of ironic; them speeding through the phases is the biggest thing keeping me from jumping in. Just wish they’d give us some updated dates so we could plan accordingly.
These were always meant to be escalated timelines… these are TBC servers… but they wanted to give folks some time to enjoy Anni.
I mean… they’re not TBC servers either; dual-spec didn’t arrive until Wrath. Fact is, we don’t really know what the long-term vision for Anniv realms are. Was TBC even officially announced? It seems pretty likely they’ll go to TBC, but I don’t know that it was expressly stated either, was it?
It was announced well before the servers even came out. We 100% know these servers are going to TBC.
Burning Crusade Classic
We’re particularly excited to reveal that Normal (PvE) and PvP fresh Anniversary realms will progress to Burning Crusade Classic, after we progress through the Classic Era content phases. This will be our first visit back to the start of this beloved expansion since its launch in 2021.
Our new Hardcore Anniversary realms will not progress to Burning Crusade Classic. Hardcore has always been focused on the Classic 1-60 journey, made truly viable and approachable thanks to Classic’s original mechanics and difficulty. Burning Crusade brings with it a level of challenge (and randomness) that we feel doesn’t fit Hardcore.
As for your other points… i mean its just “some” changes… Dual Spec is awesome and will make TBC 1000000x better.
