I played Horde forever but switched over to Alliance for faster queues and I also wanted a challenge and preferred to play the underdog. But omg, its bad. Really bad. There has been a mentality that has been developed over time that Horde is just better at PVP. This manifests itself in Alliance quitting the moment they encounter any adversity or lose the lead.

I posted a few weeks back that the Alliance battlecry is “let them win”. I was seeing this in almost every BG I played. So, you couple this with the fact that pro PVP players pick Horde, better racials, etc., and you have this outcome. Also since Alliance queues are quicker a loss doesn’t feel as impactful since you can just queue again and be in another BG in minutes, whereas Horde has longer queues and has to make each BG count.

What rating range are you playing at? I know lots of great Alliance players, I wonder if they’re all sort of keeping to themselves instead of using the LFG tool maybe.

Also is there a way to check which RBG team is which faction? I wonder if I’ve mostly been fighting other Horde teams this week without realizing it.

Best of luck finding better DPS, the Oasis RBG discord might be a good place to look, sadly I can’t find their join link atm or I’d post it for you.

I dunno I hit people and they go “omg warrior OP nerf!” and then keel over.

Darndest thing.

I think part of the issue is just where the bottlenecks lie. Like the horde side, it seems, is simply more intent on winning. There’s this air that if the alliance is taking the lead to keep trying for the push back, while the alliance seems to resort to infighting at the first sign of a loss.

Not to say horde doesn’t infighting either, but it seems like most of that stays at the bottom while alliance let’s it rise into higher ratings.

Idk though

alli is super troll

allliences are the rp faction hrode is the try hard faction

It’d be cool if they could alternate start positions for alliance and horde in bgs. I get that they’d have to change the buildings and aesthetics when the sides switched but that would eliminate everyone blaming maps.

Horde are scary monsters. Alliance needs a bigger intimidation factor to wrestle back some form of psychological edge.

Well, you have the innate bias that goes along with nearly everyone on their team playing Horde. They even tweet about how much they don’t like Alliance (people in charge of designing and creating content for them, even). Even some of their designs are done with a trollish disdain (at the start of BfA they gave alliance a bunch of crap mounts; then they made an ad for an in-store mount and mocked alliance for having bad mounts… I mean… ???). That obviously bleeds through in the design over time and starts to add up.

How many times did they nerf human racial? The crying on the forums was so bad for lightforged they ended up having 3 or 4 goes at it.

Remember when against overwhelming odds gave decent gear and guilds started switching to Alliance (and help the disparity in the process)? They put an end to that almost immediately. But guilds switching to Horde and going all troll for a free mini-bloodlust is fine. They let blood elves run around with a mass AOE silence and didn’t change it until they got embarrassed at MDI when everyone showed up as a blood elf. That matters because there’s less overall gear and Ilvl flowing out. These little perks and incentives are incremental.

I mean you could go on. But of course if you mention any of this clear and obvious bias you get the best part-- the rabid forum troll mob. See below for that one, we all know it’s coming. =]

The funny thing is you see it mattering less in RBGs. Mind you it’s not a perfect idea, however even in games where it’s horde v horde it doesn’t seem to matter which team started where.

EBGs are their own can of worms, however normal BGs don’t seem to favor either side.

I have no idea how the RBGS compare tbh. As alliance this ladder feels HARD. One foot forward, one foot back (getting there).

My horde friends keep whispering ‘swap overrrrrr its much easierrrrrr’ which is tempting but I suspect I’d encounter exactly the same harsh BGs - just from a different angle on the map ^^

Why do you care?

Oh - because I really want to hit 1800 legitimately without buying a boost ^^ That is why.

Just gotta get out there and scalp good players from pugs. Finding a PvP dedicated guild who will work with you also helps.

Ayup. Definite clues are avoiding the words ‘yolo’ and ‘no voice’.

1800 is the easiest it’s ever been to hit in the history of the bracket right now, on either faction. Just keep queueing.

When I kill players with my gnome, it just defeats the horde mindset. A little puntable character just destroyed them. They don’t come back from it and we typically win.
