I just looted a wand with +4 int and +4 agility.
Stats were wonky in vanilla. But yes, agi actually does give benefits (crit, dodge) to classes that don’t have it as a primary stat. Still completely useless for clothies, but as stated, stat distribution was a mess in the game’s first iteration.
Weird seeing as only clothies use wands
No most greens are randomly generated. If you see a Lunar Wand of Healing that Classicforges to +21 it can be worth like 1k gold.
As mentioned, itemization was horrible back in Vanilla. There were many gear items that no reasonable person in any class/spec would want.
Agil will still increase you melee chance to crit, and provide a bonus to armor, aswell as increase your chance to dodge.
All stats are useful in some way to all classes and specs.
I disagree. Making it so every class benefits from every stat (yes, even rogue/warrior with int) and that not everything has to be perfectly itemized is a good thing.
that is a vendor spec wand
Actually that’s not too bad of an item, agility helps with ranged damage and if you’re using a wand it’s pretty nice to have. I’ve seen priests with some cloth agility items since it helps them destroy mobs with wanding.
In early patches of vanilla, agility increased wand damage (as its a ranged weapon). This was later removed, but the stats were not changed on many items.
Just fyi agility does not increase wand damage in 1.12.
Saw a priest smashing everyone with just a wand in dungeons at low levels, might’ve been just wandspec though
Wand spec and certain wands being ludicrously good at low level. It’s essentially as much or more damage as a hardcasted Shadow Bolt while shooting twice as fast.
Itemization for hybrids could have been partially corrected by allowing all casting classes to use wands.
3 classes restricted to 1 subset of ranged weapons in the game. 3 others are restricted from using any ranged weapon at all.
Meanwhile, hunters, warriors, rogues can use guns, bows, crossbows, and throwing weapons.
