Does Acid Rain stop node caps?

I am curious if the acid rain talent for healing rain stops someone from capping a node in blitz/battlegrounds. I see most healers run farseer in blitz.

With surging totem being a 24 second healing rain/acid rain, would this not be better for blitz? Or is the low health on it the issue?

Someone asked this a few weeks ago and confirmed it does not.

Yeah i just found out that it didnt. Doesn’t make sense to me and leads me to my next question.

Why?

It is a targetable AOE that can be destroyed. Mages, locks, hunters and countless others can cast uninterruptable AOE to delay node caps. Seems like either a bug imo. I don’t see why it shouldn’t do the same

It just depends on the spell unfortunately.

Rain of fire, blizzard, and surging totem for enhance do stop node caps.

Consecration and acid rain don’t.

I’m not sure if it’s intentional or if it’s just how the spells are coded.
