Dodge stat completely removed, why?

Bears get dodge from crit right now.

They simplified hit rates years ago. They also got rid of expertise and weapon skills, which were just other parts of the dodge mechanism. It’s a bit of a mess to deal with block, damage reduction, and wildly varying accuracy rates for both the player and the developer. There are still some hit rate variations in the game, but they are limited scope and predictable as to when you will have to deal with them.

when classic launched, I rolled a rogue that ran an ultra-dodge build to level. It was super fun.

Go into the subtlety tree to get ghostly strike (+15% dodge for 7 seconds). use that as the opener. in the combat tree, max lightening reflexes for 5% dodge. 5 points deflection for +5% parry. add riposte.

pick up all the cooldown reductions on evasion, vanish, sprint, etc. increase speed when stealthed.

man, that was fun. it was the most immersive game play I have experienced in wow.

Shame. It seemed to be the big thing Brewmaster Monks had going for them.

Gear in old leveling dungeons still can give dodge instead of real stats.

We did some level 30 Raiding for a little while.

Holy hell the itemization on Classic/TBC/WotLK content is awful. Soooo much Dodge/Parry junk especially for plate, and the accessories with it tend to be on everyones loot table not just the Tanks. I was getting Dodge capes and necklaces on my Priest.

Bit better in WotLK than the other 2 but damn.

This is not how you play a necromancer!

And defense. I enjoyed getting my tank prepped for raids by making sure I was uncrushable/uncrittable.

So much crit haste, too.

Oh, yeah, naturally. Vers is around in those brackets, but that’s just because Spirit and MP5 items basically just switched to Vers items.

Mastery just doesn’t exist though. That started in Cata and they never went back and mixed up the loot to include it before then.

Lol this reminds me of old League of Legends, back when we had rune pages you could customize.

Basically, they removed those because you could stack dodge or crit, and just get very lucky at the start of a match and get a kill from sheer luck alone, just by dodging or critting, without any real counterplay.

Riot didn’t like it, and removed those runes, and later the whole system.

I think dodge was removed from WoW for the exact same reason- people could stack it and it could potentially lead to some degenerate gameplay. Not sure if anyone actually has done that, though.

Both LoL and WoW moved towards getting rid of dodge, and we instead have dodge abilities instead with longer cooldowns.

BrM Monks exist around dodge, as does SoM tanking rogues (they parry too).

I was referring to how bear gains dodge from crit, and brewmaster from Mastery (which also increases attack power).

I miss being able to reforge stats.

I know you were. But a junk neck that has stamina and dodge only on it is bad.

I got some timewalking ring with dodge instead of a regular second secondary. It’s 4% more dodge on my Blood DK; not bad. Character panel doesn’t show dodge on the DPS specs. It might be there, but not desirable compared to the regular secondaries. Currently not interested in the hassle of changing my gear sets to switch it in and out.

edit: actually parry from crit rating would be superior I guess

I got a timewalking stamina tanking trinket that reduces threat. Yeah, that works.
