PSA - Apparently the autoUnshift command in macros no longer works, using any of the macros to cast regrowth in bear will take you out.
Hopefully this isn’t intended but if anyone has a workaround post it

Same issue and unable to find a work around
Use a normal mouse over macro.
Just stop casting Regrowth without the DoC buff
The only workaround I have found is to make a macro to turn Autoshift off and another to turn it back on when I am not playing feral /run SetCVar(“autoUnshift”,0) doesn’t seem to work in combination with a cast macro anymore and will only work when used alone.
Fun detected. Not even fun, workaround for self inflicted UI issue detected.
Not the 66+ week old class talent tree.
Not the dead last survivability.
Not the forms that are rare drops from rare mobs.
No, it was a macro people were using because they won’t give us a !Regrowth spell.
Absolute garbage priority.
Someone in the druid discord made a workaround WA, check there
Man some of these replies remind me that I really shouldn’t get on these forums
I just want to know how many people are misclicking their keybinds so often that this break in a macro is so affecting their gameplay =/
no reason to reply if you aren’t adding anything useful, moving forward you can use that as a general rule for posting on the forums
Well now that makes you posting a little ironic doesnt it? Ive already contributed.
My macro still works.
Use a normal regrowth macro.
Win win
Obviously you’re trolling so congrats on getting me to reply
I shouldn’t have to explain this, but if for example you’re pushing a key and it’s close - why would you take a chance on possibly making a mistake and hitting regrowth w/o DOC?
Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, and one wipe could be the difference in timing the key.
Even if it only happens .1% of the time, if you could take 10 seconds to copy paste a macro or weakaura to prevent it why wouldn’t you?
I mean obviously in your case where 20s are your max and you could probably tank the dungeon out of bear form it wont matter.
Unless you’re running a script for damn near perfect play, every action you take could lead to a possible mistake. Just quit playing the game then? Really? Disingenuous much?
Happens with the macro too. Misuing DoC proc and popping out of form is an outlier of an outlier.
Because I don’t run WeakAuras? I’ve just learned to map my Regrowth for both my Feral and Guardian to a double button keybind so it doesn’t “accidentally” happen. As in I have to want to be using the ability for it to go off. Simple really.
Yeah, 20s are my max buddy. Just like yours
Not disingenuous at all, I’m not sure what idiocy is leading you to think you shouldn’t reduce mistakes if possible (especially when it’s as easy as copy pasting a macro)
Of course you don’t
Its a crutch. And when that crutch breaks, you fall. Now im not against macros by any means.
But how many people found this out the hard way? By making the mistake of pressing the wrong keybind and swapping out of form? (Ferals too).
Know who didnt make that mistake? Me. Because i set it up to not accidentally cast an ability that’ll take me out of form unless i so choose to.
Never bothered. Ive got a whopping 9
Bartender
DBM
Details
O itemlvl
Pawn
Postal
Tom Tom
WQ Tracker
And whatever the 9th one is. I can stand to lose all but the top 3. Could probably get rid of DBM since i dont raid and am overly familiar with the m+ dungeons
The autoUnshift CVar now returns isSecure as true, meaning it was likely an intended change. Secure CVars cannot be set during combat and cannot be set using /console, and instead must be set using the functions SetCVar() or C_CVar.SetCVar().
It’s not just about misclicking your keybindings - there are many, many plausible scenarios where having a macro such as this is extremely beneficial, particularly when you are a tank and cost of shifting out erroneously is very high.
For example, something that has happened to me a number of times in keys is that I hit regrowth while tanking ‘right’ as the DoC cooldown is dropping off, causing me to shift out of bear form and instantly die. When I hit the button, the button is glowing, but when it actually activates the DoC buff has just dropped off. The reason this happens is that I don’t just hit regrowth the second it procs, instead I choose to time it when a party member or myself needs a heal, sometimes meaning that I hold onto the proc for a decently long time.
This kind of decision making is something macros have generally been incapable of, so its not really a surprise that blizzard secured the cvar. If you want to retain that functionality, just leave it set to 0 and manually unshift.
It is. Ill prove it to you
Which doesnt happen unless you use the wrong ability at the wrong time (usually a result of misclicking).
Right. Ive had this happen before as well, albeit very fee and far intm between.
But this isnt why 90% of the people are complaining about it. That fraction of a second from latency isnt how they found out
Yeah. We set our game up to not accidentally cast an ability that’ll take us out of form also… by using this CVar in our macros… hence the frustration of it being unceremoniously broken after more than a decade of it working perfectly fine.
You’re no better than the rest of us Grizzle, and you really need to get off your high horse. I think I speak for most of us when I say that we don’t appreciate your insultingly reductionist takes, and the “lol get gud” cliché that you’re using is honestly exhausting. If that’s the only contribution you have to a thread meant as a PSA to point out a breaking change to a functionality that has worked in-game for 10+ years, then please just go away. You’re not adding anything to this discussion apart from getting yourself off by stroking your own ego. It genuinely makes me sad that you, and those like you, are a part of this community. Be better.
But the game doesnt do it. Your specifc commanda do. Which is why i called it a crutch.
Dont get me wrong, im all for the QoL and them fixing it (if they will). But it becomes a crutch. There were Druids in Dreamgrove that switched off of DoC into Natures Fury simply because the macro was broken or the WA didnt work. To me thats just crazy
“I cant/wont/refuse to play this talent without the macro working”…you dont see the habdicap in that?
I never claimed to be. Im simply showing the shortcomings of such reliance and dependence on such a macro. I share the same opinion about Helinki (sp?) - the rotation helper addon. It has its uses for learning but it lacks critical thinking and split second decision making which will hamper your performance down the road if you use/swear by it.
The fact you feel personally attacked and think this is a “git gud” post is whats truly exhausting. Is it about “being better”? Sure everyone wants to be better. Is it the “be better” in the git gud manner youre trying to portray? No lol and quite frankly, pretty hilarious that you think so.
A prime example of what im talking about. Do you know how to change a tire on a vehicle? I absolutely do. Doesnt make me better than everyone else.
When you get a flat, do you waste time and money waiting for roadside assistance? Or are you able to do it yourself and continue on your way in less than 20 minutes?
Same application
You seem to be earnest in believing that what you’re saying is truly insightful and valuable, and I don’t believe that you’re just trolling. And I don’t mean this with any disrespect, but it’s important to me that that you understand that you’re coming off as someone who has their head so far up their own backside that the rest of us are genuinely concerned you may suffocate on your own fart gasses.
