This new druid is the only character I got the AH with. Noticing that i dont even go to Orgimmar anymore other than maybe quest related stuff. Just been hearthing back to my garrison when I want to do any AH business.
Was this a problem in WoD?
I mean, I can see how the capitol cities would have been a barren wasteland if we could use the garrison AH.
I never did because those AH parts (specifically, the Ashran ones) were too expensive for me at the time during WoD and I don’t go to my Garrison enough after WoD to justify it.
And now that I have Long Boi it’s not needed at all.
Edit: It seems the Ashran parts are no longer needed for the quest as of 8.2, so this is honestly a good way for people to have quick AH needs now that it’s cheaper.
Really now? I’ll have to see if I can finish my garrison now that I’m 20 levels higher. 
Wait, my garrison has an AH? Knew is shoulda paid more attention back then heh.
I found a few of the parts for the AH. But buying the ones I didnt have wasnt too bad. Its mostlly cheaper if you buy the 3 or 4 parts and make the bigger one yourself.
You have to collect rare and expensive materials to build it. It is not there by default.

Yes you can unlock it with a Level 2 Trading Post
Huh, learn something every day heh.
Once you finish building a level 2 trading post you can access the quest
finishing it allows you to use the little guy as an Auctioneer.

I might do this over grinding for the Long Boi, honestly. I about put myself to sleep running old raids on some of my alts yesterday. Not sure if I have the endurance to reach such a goal.
And I enjoy the Alliance Garrison well enough.
How far off are you? I couldn’t do raw gold farming so I learned TSM4 and did the whole profs thing. Takes a bit to setup but once you’re going it’s really easy to upkeep.
Wish I hadn’t sold off the parts I HAD managed to collect.
If you bought all the modules right now it would be 68k to unlock the AH on your server. Not too bad.
The wife wanted to do hers…get her garrison AH. I just bought all four big parts off the AH. Was about 40k total. Not too horrible
I went for building something else.
I just use the mount. Still use my garrison for the Goblin gliders though, forever useful!
Really far off. I just started last week. I’m a bit worried that the pre-patch will pop before I get enough, to be honest.
If I had known about the amount of gold you could get from old raids before now, I would be fine, though.
I’ll either get the mount or have a bit of gold stored up.
I used to use TSM back during Legion but haven’t touched it since. Might try it again.
I might still have all my parts if I didn’t sell them. Which I probably did knowing me.
So what buildings DO you have?
I think my garrison has the barracks, stables, trading post, tavern, engineering hut (gliders), storehouse (bank, void storage), and I think blacksmith hut (just because).
Now that I can probably solo the WoD dungeons (outside of timewalking), I might try to upgrade my tavern.

Ive got the Blacksmith so I can use the forge and anvil when Im passing thru.
Engineering shack just because I have engineer. I have made a few of the draenor eng. stuff.
The Spirit lodge with three portals to get me around Draenor faster when Im farming.
The Storehouse with the banker, guild bank, void storage and transmog…
Trading post with the AH.
And the tavern but I rarely bother with that.
yeah garrison with AH was convenient and you get a separate hearth for your garrison
I’m super into gameplay convenience to cut wasted time so I’ve also got engineering on pretty much everyone for AH in extra places plus I got the long boi
