As someone who has clicked this option in my bag by accident and had all my carefully organized items smashed together, I can’t help but wonder who would do such a thing intentionally.
My question is who sorts all their stuff manually one by one lol.
FYI you can set certain bags to particular categories and set some bags to ignore.
Yes but 3 of my bags are “frozen” in that I exclude them from cleanup. Those bags have various items that remain in the same place all the time. Consumables, seeds, etc.
Reagents bag and the other 2 bags? Yea, clean em up. It’s all just reagents, random boes, and junk. Junk is auto sold and everything else gets AH’d so how it’s organized doesn’t matter. But it does make the various reagents nice and organized.
I removed the Sort Bag button from my UI with LiteBag, because that button can go screw itself. LOL
You can keep just one bag from being sorted. That way you can have 1 bag for consumables, 1 bag for weapons/armor, 1 bag for crafting and gathering stuff, and 1 bag for sellable junk and whatever.
It’s the best of both worlds. Especially when you are a druid and need to have like 4 different trinkets and 2 different weapons for all 4 of your specs. They just live in the happy little ‘don’t sort me’ bin where my pet bandages and upgrade stones live.
Dang without the sort button I would uninstall ![]()
Big assumption that you’re the normal one, most people don’t care about the order of items in their bags.
I use it pretty regularly. But I have a reagent bag, and a second bag flagged for materials, another bag flagged only for consumables, and one for gear. The sort functions pretty much cant get it wrong when there’s so little left for it to do after the vendor all button cleans up the greys.
Bag 4 is all my consumables and is Ignore cleanup. Bag 3 is equipment. Sort bags is the best and dealing with everything else.
I can’t be bothered manually sorting each char so I just got used to the auto bag sort thing, yeah.
Before the sort bag option existed, I had an addon that did the same thing. Haven’t manually sorted bags in over a decade.
i have an addon that turns off the button so i dont accidentally hit it.
I have my backpac and gear bag set to ignore and all of them are assigned so I know were to look for things.
also…did everyone know that the new special bags from tailoring are also just regular bags? You can put whatever you want in them, they just have a buff for certain professions.
