Do you think your actual personality was a factor in your faction choice?

I’m sexy in real life, that’s why I chose Horde.

honestly i like being a void elf because they’re edgier blood elves and i’m kinda an edgelord. (prob why i chose necrolord lol…)

You remember that opening cinematic with the dwarf and the bear and the night elf turning into a black cat? That’s what made me pick a night elf. Also I’m a huge Tolkien fan and loved reading about elves (elfs?) in that book.

Nope just went with the faction Horde In 8.2 because I wanted to play Vulpera. Haven’t left It since. When I started playing I only seen the game as a fake world with 3d models and textures and voice acting etc. The only driving factor has been what appeals to me generally without surrounding context.

I like people but I often don’t like how they act. I might sometimes say I hate people but it’s more that I think we as a species, myself included, are mostly egoistic, ignorant, selfish, and arrogant in the ways we treat other animals, plants, and our own habitat - the Earth.

I don’t think that’s why I chose to play a blood elf though. That was mostly cause I usually play characters that look somewhat like me (though I look more like a walmart version of my character now) and don’t like how the human jumping and running animations feel. I also used to main alliance back in the days and wanted a change.

If natural(ish) looking red hair was an option for void elves I’d probably main a void elf right now. And if it wasn’t an allied race.

Back in TBC when I started, I picked a human because I have sort of a Hero Complex in video games (I could never go Sith in KotoR), and I viewed the Alliance as primarily the heroes.

Then that just kinda stuck around. I have about 15 Alliance characters and 2 Horde ones (because I wanted to experience their story).

My mom says I am cool, so Alliance it is

No.
My first character was a Gnome Mage specializing in arcane, because Magic Missile. At the time I was running a forest Gnome sorcerer in a D&D campaign. I was pretty happy I could have wood-brown skin and green hair so it was an easy choice for me.

When I made my second character, an orc warlock, it became quite clear to me that ARCANE MISSILE WAS TERRIBLE and my main was complete trash. I played that warlock through the rest of Vanilla, TBC, and WOTLK. I loved that warlock, and although I leveled every class to 80, Lock remained my favorite.

Around WoD I swapped to a forsaken Blood DK for the instant Queues, then a Tauren Guardian for the same reasons. I now main Guardian and it’s my favorite class in the game, though I strongly wish it was more complicated or supported shapeshifting more, and would drop the affinity system… so many pain points that could be fixed if they bothered to do so, but the QOL of flight form and being an invincible self healing demigod makes up for it.

I play a tauren, I think OP just called me fat

Yes but oh well.

Dwarves. That’s the main reason I play Alliance. They are my favorite race. I do think my personality has kept me away from Horde ever since BfA. Part not wanting to be a villain and part not wanting to be played off as a moron in order to be said villain.

How dare you assume all orc warriors are tanks, humph. I actually have just been alternating since BC when I started on my brothers’ account and they were horde, in Cata I went Human hunter, skipped a couple expansions and came back in Legion as Horde, BFA went Alliance, and now I’m back Horde. I flip all the time
