WoW players need to actually play other MMORPGs and realize what player housing actually is, and how it’s a massive feature that encourages people to do content to unlock things for said house, while also providing massive boons for the community as a whole.

Player housing is an amazing idea that’s a core staple of this genre.

I swear, WoW is the RPG for people who absolutely hate RPGs and just continually want nothing but some sort of competitive experience.

References from pre 2010 as to why housing is bad while refusing to acknowledge ESO and XIV’s extremely engaged communities is just redundant, and grapsing at straws like usual to protest the addition of basic features - something only this cesspit of a community does.

If you argument is that Tmog is an easy development choice, then nobody is arguing against you.

There’s no question that housing could represent a huge development investment and there’s no guarantee that it would pay off, but I don’t think that means it’s out of the question.

The amount of work that went into Island Expeditions and Warfronts is probably similar in scope to player housing, and that was done for unproven, expansion-only content.

It would have to be done right, but I think there’s a lot more value than having other people check out your house. I think it could add another level of personal investment and downtime content. I think it could make players much more attached to their account if they could truly customize on a proper level.

I spent hours downloading and arranging furniture in The Sims and it didn’t matter to me that nobody saw it. I was invested and enjoyed tweaking and collecting the art assets.

I don’t want player housing. I’ve never understood the appeal of housing.

Simple answer… no. If anything big is coming its something like we need to fix the planet because Zovaal woke up Azeroth…maybe playable dragons or god forbid we finally get boats and sail the vast ocean like they’ve mentioned doing but never done or did wrong. Player housing is the least of their worries right now… but one idea they could do is give worgen tails

Not likely, but I wouldn’t say it’s impossible, either. They just finally caved on cross-faction only after eating several slices of humble pie (the mass dissatisfaction with SL’s gameplay and plot, FFXIV overtaking their game for all of a few weeks, the various controversies), I’d give them some room before they add another heavily-requested feature.

I doubt this because the team isn’t trying to be innovative anymore. And I won’t say I don’t want it. I think the majority of WoW players do want it, they just know that even if the team even bothered to commit time to it, they would get it wrong. The whole concept would be time-gated for play time metrics/engagement and not be made as a long-lasting permanent and fun addition to the game. It’s a waste of time because they won’t actually get it right.

I don’t think it is coming, but my gosh I would love if it did. Especially if they could do something like EQ2 and Wildstar. I miss having a little place I can just spend hours decorating. I can, and do, play other MMOs to get that fix, but I would welcome housing here too. :slight_smile:

Same thing happen to me once I have my Garrrison I found little or need to leave it and just stay there in my walls case it feel so pointless to leave When Nothing of worth doing in Wod have any thing of value or intrest when I Just get my items form my garden or mine as well Do my AH and banking there…

Once we get player housing Folk be asking “Can we get AH, Can we get bank, Oh can we get mine or Garden to grow exp plant or past exp plant please please I play extra sub if you do.”

Cosmetic player housing systems in most MMOS, like what a lot of people are asking for here, have no things like auction houses and such. They’re there for RP and for the fun of decorating usually. You would still have to go into the world.

Garrisons were just… awful. And it boggles my mind that people even speak of them in the same breath as proper player housing.

Trust me… They gonna use same thing as Garrison and make it cheeper one way or another I have doubt they gonna do real player housing but That just me I just speaking what I am seeing

Garrisons are NOT the same. Proper player housing is a area where you can decorate how you wish. You can often control what the buildings look like even, or buy a spot in a place you like. Garrisons were a gameplay focused base where we have barely any control except for placing our buildings (that all looked the same), in certain spots. We couldn’t decorate or anything like that.

I want something like EQ2. Buy a house in a city that’s instanced, or a field that’s instanced. Let me place trees, and rocks, and furniture. Lemme be creative and use my imagination. Doesn’t have to have ANY gameplay benefits. I would actually even prefer if it didn’t, and was just there for fun.

It better they given premade house like Garrison and not have to Deal with tacky annoying Space limited building and Try to blind build a jag-saw house With holes, Little or no NPC to be there, And What the point having garden I can’t plant herbs or any thing that Dose not give resources Like lake with no fish?

If you gonna Give me House, Give me Barn so I lest have slaughter house to make the meat for cooking as well fishing house.

Housing that would appeal to me would be more like the farm in Pandaria yet customizable. Instanced, my own little place to decorate. Nothing else attached. Collect items for my home doing content. That would be fun and rewarding. Maybe add a hearthstone we can use to get to it.

Imagine being able to park your favorite mount outside of it! Invite a friend over.

So much potential.

No BS cosmic like Run Mythic raid/M+ for like Arm or weapon statue when I just get a busted of boss head and cooler part like claw or head Be place over my fire place.

Do I must go on If You want to force this project on my head like Cult setting.

How would player housing be different than garrisons in WOD? Cities were DEAD in WOD. Everyone stayed in their garrisons and it was terrible. Player house does not promote MMORPG.

What’s the benefit of player housing? And how would it be different than WOD?
