I hope most of these people are trolls, because some of the stuff said is either downright false, deceitful, or just plain sad.

To me, it doesnāt matter if they are just trying to troll, or hold whatever views they are spewing. Either one is just as bad. Itās worse if they voteā¦but to be honest I find it hard to believe that people who are hardcore spouting political views in video games actually vote.
spend 5 minutes reading the comments section in any major news source, regardless of which way it leans.
there really are some insane headcases out there.
then wash your eyes with bleach, or shine a flashlight in your mouth (no not really, geez) because mainstream news comments sections are awful places.

People get really dumb with politics. The people saying their stances in Trade may or may not be speaking genuinely, but you can be sure that someone somewhere truly thinks that way, even if the posters themselves donāt.
The vast majority of people who have sensible political opinions tend to be those who donāt aggressively parrot those opinions in non-political forums. They either advocate in acceptable spaces or quietly take their grievances to the ballot box.
Try not to let the egregious political takes in trade/LFG get you down. WoW is not, and never has been, an accurate snapshot of society.

Politics Iāve always hated getting involved in so I just turn Trade Chat off when it comes up. When you express your views the other side, no matter who they are, attack you on a whim as thereās no civilized discussion about anything anymore.
Itās really odd of how things have turned as people seem to be rabid about it than most as itās the same thing each election year āTheyāre going to destroy us!ā kind of thing. Even had someone in a dungeon whisper me last year wanting to know my views and which side I ārepresentedā as my answer depended on getting healing or not. I didnāt answer and just left the dungeon I was in. Got that only once but it left a bad taste in my mouth since which made me wondering on how my answer would be then get possibly discriminated by it. Weāre all different from one another, no need to shove things down each otherās throats if the other doesnāt agree with it.
Itās really messed up especially how things are beginning to boil over anymore just on a single thing. Not weak or anything just getting tired of the violence in politics in the modern era 
Theyāre legitimately bad people either way.
I installed the SRAE addon to make trade chat more tolerable but you can add custom words to hide to Badboy plugin CCleaner to filter out trash from chat.
I too enjoy seeking things out to get angry about, inshallah brother.

The best solution for people who donāt want to see politics in trade is to /leave 2.
Blizzard canāt do what other social media like Twitter is doing - actively screening out lies and misinformation. For example, Twitter removed a tweet from a Fox News trump fav M.D. (who is a professor at Stanford!) because he was posting incorrect medical information. lol
I already voted so now Iām just gonna ignore anything political until November 3rd to save my sanity. Itās a side show at this point. Best bet is to just leave trade.

fisty, youāre the guy who made the post about your religious beliefs and whether or not it was okay for you as a christian to play a warlock. iām going to go out on a limb here and say there might be a lot of ideas and beliefs that are going to clash with your personal philosophies of right and wrong.
Honestly I mostly ignore trade chat but to answer your question I think its a mix of both trolls and people with very real, troubling views.
I mailed my ballot last week. Civic duty for 2020 mission accomplished.
If you know Zoomers or Millennials in WI, MI, PA, FL, NC, AZ, TX, or GA who havenāt voted yet, tell them to get off their butts and vote early. Hopefully they are registered. 
Till then, seniors and low info types ftw.
