Shiv’s original purpose was a utility spell. Since Legion it has become a DPS spell for Sin Rogues. It doesn’t work with Atrophic Poison which feels like a “must have” at this point. I must admit that I never use it as a Combat/Subtley Rogue. Does anyone use it outside of Sin burst anymore?
All the time.
Great tool for questing and delves.
I use all the time on kill target before stun Or on healer while bomb when stun on Dr…so he can’t get out. The best case is shadow step Shiv Hunter when he disengage or mage after he blink.
Yes but not on cooldown. It’s obvious when to use it. Also works great against warriors when they grow in size and use enrage effects.
I dont PvP, so no. Dragons been meta for so long i actually get mad at groups asking me to spend a gcd to Shiv (especially as Sub)
Its nice to have if you need a dispel for Rage buffs, but other than that, not really.
i shiv the @#$@34 out of pets.
All good points. I guess my problem is that I forget to use it on enrages. I don’t PVP on this toon and usually the only mobs I want to slow are the ones that are immune to it.
Mind Numbing or Crip via shiv really is underrated but most new players to the Rogue class need to focus and learn the basic of Rogue first.
Feral and warriors truly hate it. Think about it.
I’ve only been rogue-ing again for a few weeks, but as a Druid main used to having Soothe in M+, I love having Shiv for that purpose on my rogue.
With the shiv + bleed build I’ve been trying out (which has been RIDICULOUSLY fun), I use it during the burst. It was recommended by a couple of rogues I watched on YouTube, and it…works.
