No new legendaries, covenant powers changes, talents, etc re coming in season 4. So the only real changes in meta SHOULD be class balances. I fully expect locks and survival getting beat to death with the nerf bat.
Tanks are all fairly well balanced, except Warriors. DPS the mid packs are all fairly close, except BM, and all flavors of druids.
What do you see happening come season 4, balance and meta wise?
WW Monks have flown under the radar after their insane buff that took place when they were already A tier. So I’m going to go with an educated guess about how it’s been all of Shadowlands and vote WW monk, again, for a fourth season.
Specifically, necro WW monk, using the Invoker’s Delight legendary, again, for a fourth season.
Are we even expecting big class changes for season 4?
Other than the postponed Destro nerfs - I’m not expecting anything.
And I still think Destro will be solid, but Demo may become the meta lock spec.
In previous expansions, Locks were usually good in the last tier, but with diminishing returns on stat stacking, I’d imagine that’s no longer a given for Locks.
Who knows, maybe season 4 will be feral’s time to shine. /s
Feral will get a buff that brings them into the solid middle. Ferals will be ecstatic. Two weeks later blizz will announce they are reducing those buffs by 50% because they believe that once ferals get gear they will be too powerful.
Ferals will then spend the rest of the expac in last place.
As a former feral main, this is exactly how they would do it. Buff then nerf, especially if people complain about them in pvp.
Destro warlocks are 100% no longer going to be M+ meta spec. I main a lock and those changes to the 4p is going to destro that sick AOE that we do. ST it may be ok, but our AOE nerf is going to kill our ability to pug
They already released their “class balance” changes, didn’t they? I haven’t heard of any more coming, I don’t think.
They’re theoretically nerfing SV (I haven’t seen any numbers yet) so I expect we’ll see a plunge in those numbers as the SV FOTM go monk instead.
even when you know it and expect it it is still depressing to see being pointed out
WW and Fire will probably be the top mythic+ meta pending any other balancing.
And rogues will go back to being 100% required since Encrypted is going away.
Strength using dps might see a huge spike considering they’ll be able to buy OWS and gavel.
Idk how long it’s gonna take to get those though. Still don’t know the exact details of how S4 will work.
Makes me wish I had a more steady M+ group. Fire is good, but it really requires the tank to pull around it. I go frost in pugs because fire is just too much of a gamble.
I know its not happening but I wouldnt mind a buff to Havoc
