Just had a debate with my friend on discord, apparently pressing ctrl with your thumb isn’t the norm I don’t understand how the pinky is comfortable to press anything with, unless I got an anorexic frail pinky, curious if anyone else uses there then for ctrl
i’m a pinky presser
I dont press it at all, I hate ctrl binds.
I dont do Ctrl Binds.
How the hell do you hit it with your thumb? I do Alt with my thumb.
I tuck my thumb underneath my palm and reach over, thumb for ctrl, alt and space bar plus V, X and B
That would cramp my hand. And I say that as someone that uses a Shift-7 bind consistently.
I don’t really use control binds but I use shift with my pinky and alt with my thumb
The only ctrl bind I use is the pet attack one. And I use my forefinger for that.
If it’s for something quick, pinky. If I have to hold the key down for awhile, thumb or ring finger
Why would i press the ctrl key anyway?
Yikes, I cap out at Shift+6.
Anything past that isn’t using a modifier key.
On topic, I definitely use my pinky, and just trying to use my thumb is mildly painful.
I use the underside of my pinky knuckle. It practically rests on Ctrl when I’m using WASD or the number keys anyway, so all it takes is leaning my hand a smidge to press down on it instead of twisting a finger to do it.
I think you’re a lone wolf on that one, when I get home I’m gonna try that it seems interesting
i don’t often bind anything to use the CTRL key. but for the shift key i use my pinky.
i was taught to touch type on old Olivetti manual typewriters in the 1980s
I dunno if it’s not the norm but I know I can’t do it. My hand’s too big, and to hit ctrl with my thumb would require a rotation of the wrist which would be most uncomfortable. Can do it with my pinky though.
I bound one of the side buttons on my mouse as ctrl instead of using the keyboard one, so… thumb I guess?
I bound my Ctrl button to the number 5 button on my mouse. And I put a cupboard door round bumper thingy ON the number 5 button so I can find it easy. It’s taken a while but I’m getting used to it.
"Thumb ". I don’t use my pinky on my keyboard lol
