Every class has an ugly step sister spec. Every class has that one spec that just doesn’t preform like the others, and often is in an odd state. Usually, you’ll find them in D-F tier, or that one weird season where they are S tier. Often, they are my favorite specs; so with that, are you to, an ugly step sister?
Idk, correct me if I’m wrong, but to me these are the ugly step sister specs . They are either performing awesome, or they are in a gross broken state that just makes them whack. Humor me I guess, all of this is just for fun and giggles
Edit: I think a lot of you took my list to mean I hate these specs. They are just the ones that feel like are “outliers”. Like I said above some of these are my favorite specs. I love demon, disc, arcane, mistweaver, etc. These are the specs I feel get either crapped on (by players and or blizz), is made fun of, doesn’t feel like it fits perfectly with the class fantasy, and more. Also I can’t tell if some of y’all are really offended by my ugly step sister joke . ‘‘Twas a joke and I was in a silly goofy mood 🫡
I play all those except for Demonology (not really a fan of the imp commander fantasy) Survival (i dont really know why i dont care for this spec) and arms (fury and prot are just way more fun to me)
I would not consider Enhancement the ugly step sister. It’s more the hobo on the street that found $10 but someone called the cops on the hobo because they thought the hobo stole the money. Now the hobo is sitting in jail for no good reason.
Because Cinderella is a common element of many people’s childhood and she was considered the ugly step sister. This makes it easier for many people to be familiar with the concept the op is trying to suggest.
those that do say they play survival are being contrarian and are using a technicality that their 37th alt being survival while stuck at level 19 is “playing survival”
Demonology has been arguably the most popular Warlock spec for all of WoW, the only time it wasn’t was for that brief stint they removed Meta form and people boycotted the class entirely
Arcane Mage has been the most consistent Mage spec throughout the game’s entire lifespan. Frost is the one you almost never see past leveling
And Disc priest has literally never been in a bad spot in any expansion
