Hey Forum,
Would you main the same class as your friends?
I run regular content with three friends. One will always be a Death Knight, another will always be a Demon Hunter, and the last will always be a Druid (Balance/Resto.)
I recently switched from Priest to Druid (haven’t liked Holy in forever and this was before the Shadow changes) and I totally fell in love with Druid, all four specs.
The thing is, I feel weird maining the same class as my buddy. Doubling down on the same transmogs and aesthetic in general just doesn’t make me feel unique. My friends think I’m being ridiculous, and I know I am lol, but knowing that doesn’t change the fact that I don’t enjoy my Druid as much as a result.
Anyone else have this issue? Anyone else have a personal unwritten rule that thou shalt not main the same class as your friends?
Thanks for Reading,
Francis on Moon Guard
PS: can’t switch characters on the forum for some reason, boo.

You have smart friends, listen to them.

I have a Druid too, what difference does it make?
Thinking you need to all be different is something you’ll need to work on, likely due to you playing a particular role for so long.
Just play your Druid, the awkward feeling will eventually go away as you get closer to you character.

Hello fellow MG friend…
Yes, you’re being ridiculous.

This character is my “main” but I haven’t played her in a while. My friends and I do dungeons together every week, and we need to fill all the roles. So I was using my healers. We are all altoholics to one degree or another, so we have no problems switching around.
But, we have on occasion ended up in a dungeon with all five of us playing druids… It’s actually the best class to play if you want to play with your friends because you can do any role.
No that’s a bit of an odd thing. Even the way you build could be different.
I’ve seen it before though so you’re not alone but I wouldn’t let liking the same class as a friend bother you.
I honestly don’t like playing the same class as my friends.
I can get weirdly competitive and I don’t like it or really know why. This is the only game I get that way in and only really in that specific instance.

I play with a small group of friends (4 of us in total). We never play the same classes, for whatever reason we all want to be different. Cant explain it really.

I dont have friends. So no
I think part of it is I come from that D&D background where my friends and I would always choose different classes for campaigns. It made things more interesting. I’m the only roleplayer in my group of WoW friends, so that might explain it actually lol.
So I take it back, I’m not being ridiculous.

My friends don’t play WoW but the usual rule is me as warrior, my cousin as rogue, my childhood friend as mage and my friend that I met in middle school picking one that we already selected and from there we start to argue.
I feel weird playing my friends or static groupings classes too. Not necessarily weird, I just feel like we are missing potential different utility really. Not the end of the world but it’s important to me.
