What do you guys prefer when looking for pugs?
Personally I’ve had much better odds inviting people that have 3.4-3.7k io last season with low io in S4 than the players that were 2.5k S3 and 2k+ this season.
I’ve had plenty of players that are over 2k this season and have no idea how to play their class.
I find that players with 4k io S1 are slightly better than the 2k io S4 players but not as good as the S2 3k io players who were clearly better than those pushing 3.9k io in S3.
But results vary. I make people show me their logs in any case; you’re not going to scuff my +3 key with your green parses!
Hmph!

If the applicant has an ilvl lower around 268-278 and their current score is low,I skip them for 15+; regardless of past rating.
The reason:
They haven’t done any or many keys this season. That means they don’t know them well yet.
If it’s a 10 or lower, I grab the first warm body to apply.

For Season 4 especially, I look for players who were at least 3.1k last season then filter by this season.
Last season score tells me if they know their class or not and this season score shows me they know the mechanics. I’ve pugged into many groups who were sub 3k last season only pulling 4-10k dps in a +15-19.

I’ve found that there are loads of 3-3.1k players in S3 that have no idea whats going on and was obviously carried last season.
Usually if I see anyone that’s 3.2k+ last season I’ll just invite them regardless of ilvl or current io unless I’m doing Karazhan. At that io i expect those players to be able to adapt quickly and not stand in bad and most of the time they’re more than competent for 15’s.
Last season, every time. Its week two, nobody cares what your io is this season yet.
Tried inviting a guy that was 2400 this season, and he was 2700 last season. Surprise, he played like he was 2700.

A lot of people were carried to 3k last season, intentionally or not and it shows.

KSM is rarely a good metric to go off when judging how people will play. Currently it seems like about 2300 this season is where the better players are.

Wish that was always true, I have a WW friend 285 ilvl 3450 io last season with about 1300 io this season, getting declined to 10’s.
When he finally got into group he was with a bunch of players that were low io last season but is 2k this season and at no surprise they sucked.
That’s cause many low key players don’t have RIO and just use Score in game. They only see this season I think.
I think that’s people who don’t use RIO addon? I can’t imagine anyone who has been running keys would take a higher io this season over a 3400 s3.
Been running 20/21 keys, I would take him over most of the applicants I get. He’s probably applying to too low of keys.
I am 2.3k and I’ve already retired from pushing keys for S4.
Did a couple of 20+ but the rest of my keys are 15-17, minimal effort and time spent.
The guys I use to push with are all easily 2500io+ now with a few in the 2700’s.
I have a secret to tell you, io means almost nothing.
Might be newer players as well that don’t really understand what 3.4k is in S3 and just looking at S4 2k+
Yeah tell him to apply to higher keys. Most people that pay attention are doing at least 20+ by now.

Someone who thinks IO means nothing who also doesn’t play the content.

That’s actually a good idea,
I would never pass on a 3400+ WW monk if i was lead.
Takes a special type of degen to continue pushing for 0 rewards.
