It’s very poorly designed where capping the flag, 9 times out if ten, is a bad idea. Flag in general is a bad idea and people going for it often just throw the game. Fighting for towers is king
Having one of the two objectives be such a negative makes it a bad map design

Yeah. I mean, would it be such a bad thing to have it be 4 flags active but they reset as well?
Not a huge fan of EotS. I just don’t find it convenient to be responsible for guarding a base and leaving that base before the flag is capped to hope to get the newly activated one before the enemy. I also don’t like when it is a guaranteed loss when my teammates ignore the active enemy base and cant get the flag either. Just watching the monkeys f footballs while sitting the one successful objective we have is sad. When we are winning I see no problems with the map.
I think if the BG Blitz maps had a loading screen that had flag cap score value number, and objective flag score per second numbers, it would help some. If people could see that the objectives are important in a clearly presented format.
As it is, most the games have devolved into fighting mid for flags while the one team that has 2=3 players interested in bases wins handily.
I think the map design is fine, it’s just that people don’t know how to think is the main problem.
They could increase the amount you get from capping a flag, but if you have no bases you can’t cap anyway. So, two bases will still be king. Flag is only important if neither team can get two bases.
And, even then… after the flag cap map reset both teams should be going for bases again. Rinse and repeat.
I think solution is to reduce points for bases (currently holding both wins game in 3 minutes) and increase points for capping flag.
That way it incentivizes fighting for bases so you can cap the flag.
Make it so just holding both wins game in 5-6 instead of current 3. Then teams will have to fight on bases more and won’t just sit and spin for 3 minutes and gg.

Here’s what i’ve seen happening now, where one team seems much more coordinated/experienced than the other: they’ll cap two towers at the start AND win the flag. Then almos the whole team including both healers sit at one tower and hold the flag there. Even if they eventually lose the other tower it doesn’t matter as long as they hold the flag, and then cap to finish the game.
If the counter is for the other team to all go there and at least force the cap, even if you tell people they won’t do it. Or if some go (but not all) they can’t accomplish what needs to be done.
I like how it is. It forces people to fight at one node or mid. Usually nodes. People can’t escape or hide from
Combat. The fast mounts and less objectives makes it awesome because it’s all about combat and node strategy. Rbgs has always been about winning team fights. I asked a friend of mine who plays on a team over 2100+ every season and he says “no special strategy. We pick a dps player, cc healers and try to blow them up faster than they blow us up. It’s all about winning team fight”
It’s not strategy as much as it’s sending people to the graveyard. what I don’t like is to many nodes in ab and fake ab. I’m on mount 70% of the match. They need to make less nodes spawn like eots. And of course temple of kotmungpoo sucks as well
Biggest issue I see with Eots for Blitz is that they just threw it at us and we figured it out by trial and error.
The number of times I type in the prep window to ignore the base that is inactive and go to the one that is always elicits a response that they didn’t know it was on rotation, and how to even find out what it is - that you can mouseover and see.
This is actually a great idea. If BG prep can be made just a tad bit longer and info about the BG be given to all players when they enter, we’ll have better understanding of it throughout.

So if a team has 2 bases and the flag , how do you get get bases to unflag ?
Steal flag from efc by sending them to the sky box, or steal both active nodes by CC or lots of sending ppl to the sky box, then maybe they will stop healing EFC with their maximum effort as they cant turn it in.
