Do You like arms/Fury warrior animations?

Just want to read your opinion. Personally I don’t like how arms sounds when swinging and their animation looks so generic

I liked 2hspecial for Mortal Strike, the little spinny twirl thing feels silly instead of a big meaty chop.

The 2h overhead swing animation with a 1h for Prot/Fury execute feels broken to me

Also wish thunder clap didn’t have what feels like an incomplete loop (animation finishes and I snap back into my original position awkwardly instead of flowing back to where I was).

Animation set is ok but it could be a lot better.

The fact that the spec that’s the so-called master of Arms fights the exact same way regardless of equipped weapon just irks me since it’s just uninspired.

There really needs to be something to differentiate different fighting styles based on weapons used. Maybe if they’re grouped up as Sword, Axe/Mace, Polearm/Staff with unique combat ready animations such as a certain longsword guards (Ox, Longpoint guards etc) which you could change or class trainer.

Axes/Maces being held and thrown around with counterweight movement with one hand closer to the axe/mace head and the other further down and showing the momentum and hand movement of how you would fight with such a weapon.

Polearms/Staves would be a combination of stab and sweep motions while also using a similar take to axes/maces with the grip changing based on strikes. More flourishes maybe some spinning since they’re longer weapons.

One of the things Final Fantasy 14 does really well, is having unique animations for all of their classes/jobs.

Warrior 1000% could use some love in helping us stand out compared to our disco ball counterparts (Ret Paladin).

Blizzard animations in general are just trash. They remind me of the simulations where AI teaches itself to “walk” and it is a total mess.

Maybe in 2004 before youtube you could justify not having ready access to an organized library of videos of movement from fight styles to just how does a horse run (actually no you can’t) but they still have these glaringly WRONG animations to this day. I’m quite the amateur at bio mechanics, but with even with that I can see how nearly everything but the most basic movements are not just bad but WRONG.

(the horse run thing has been a real cringe for me since launch)

Warrior animations feel a bit different on each race.

I like the execute animation and don’t mind the sound but I wish mortal strike animation was more interesting and I think the sound is too thin wish it sounded meatier for lack of a better way do describe it.

Gosh I would really like Arms’ animations to be better. They’re so bland and dull. In contrast, part of the reason I enjoy playing my Ret Pally is because the animations are so nice that they actually add to the fun. Come on, Blizz!

Found a pleasant surprise in the fact Dracthyr using a pole arm have a stab forward attack rather than the normal sweeping attack. If only there was more of that.

male kul tirans do too

I think most MMOs in general have unique animations depending on the class/weapon being used. WoW is basically the only game that doesn’t, and it’s pretty unfortunate. Could do so much more with animation’s now a days.

One thing i noticed in a very recent patch:

When sweeping strikes is active, the swing animation for moves like mortal strike and execute would change to look more like it was sweeping across to hit a second target (i think it was the same animation as that special Venthyr execute). I like the visual of that as it helped me see sweeping series was active. Plus it was just satisfying to see.

In a recent patch/maintenance, sweeping strikes no longer gives that animation moves like mortal strike and execute. I know in the big scheme of things its pretty minor, but i wish theyd bring back the sweeping strikes animation.
