Do you keep your main and all your alts on one server?

I usually keep them on one server. What about you guys?

Yeah, since I only have 3 mains (Blood DK, BM Hunter, Holy Priest.)

Then I have a Demon Hunter who opens boxes (jewelcraft.) However, no more locked boxes drop in BFA like they did in Legion.

My other characters are Allied races for the mounts, which I don’t need but just sit there at level 20.

My main and all my Alliance alts are on one server, my Horde alts are all on a different server.

Not really. I’m pretty spread out.

For the most part yea. I have a handful of level 100’s on silvermoon (connected realm) I think I leveled them up through the pre launch invasion event for legion. Also one of them is a DH so guess that don’t really count. Any of the ones I play are on the same server.

I used to have characters across several servers. Though I didn’t play most of them much. But since they upped the realm cap to 50 I just keep everyone on my main realm now.

Mine are spread out between 5 different servers XD

all my alli are on moonguard and all my horde are area 52. I would have put all my characters on one server if I had the choice back then though it’d be easier to amass my mighty fortune!

Starting to yeah, and transferring most toons to Moonguard Alliance/Wyrmrest Accord Horde, because there is so much activity and chatting in LFG over there, can be rather crap at times, but it makes levelling less boring out there. I used to do other servers just because I liked the name or wanted to try it out, but now it feels pointless and they feel empty even when alive. (Only a few toons won’t be moved, one toon Ellanore can’t move as her name has been taken, seems like a popular name lately. And Ravendawn belongs on Ravenholdt.)

Why do you spread them out?

More or less grouped on two or so servers.

My main and alts are all on one group of servers that are connected to each other. Much easier to keep them all stocked with bags and gold as needed. This was back when servers only allowed up to so many alts.

Yes, I am an altoholic.

I have 34 characters spread across four servers. I’d like to consolidate them on two servers, but it’s just too expensive.

No, my Alliance alts are on a different server.

Yeah, I keep Horde on one server, Alliance on another.

I was just thinking the other day that I should’ve kept my toons compiled into fewer realms… as it is, I have multiple mains on multiple servers and alts scattered everywhere inbetween. It’s chaos!

For a very long time, all my characters were on a single server (Icecrown). That was from day one of WoW’s live release all the way through until the very end of MoP. They were all on the same server because they supported each other. I regularly would “toss things over the fence”, as I called it. One of my horde made ALL the potions/flasks for ALL my characters. One of my alliance made ALL the bags. Another character, ALL the gems. I just passed them through the AHs to the opposite faction characters who needed them.

At the the of MoP, however, Icecrown had become so dead on horde side, I had to move my horde characters or I had no prayer of raiding anymore. :frowning: I moved them as a group to a different server when a raid spot opened up in a promising looking guild (of which I’m still a member now! ) and my characters have been separated by faction ever since.

My horde are in the process of another server move right now since my guild moved, so they’re spread on two different servers for the moment. But they’ll very soon be all on one again. My characters are planned out to be dependent on each other. It’s worth the gold for me to move them together, expensive though that may be… though, honestly, having only moved them twice – and only ONE faction’s characters at that – it’s an overall small amount over 15 years.

Why not?

Is there any benefit to restricting yourself to one server?

Once upon a time, we could only have 10 characters per server, but 50 across the account.
…which meant those 40 other character slots would be pointless if it wasn’t intended for us to play on multiple realms.

I have all my Alliance on one server and all my Horde on another.

Maybe sending boes, resources, gold, and stuff like that to alts.

i used to have my horde mains on a different realm. none of them are higher than level 22 when i orphaned them and re-rolled new hordes on my main alliance realm once i had multiple accounts.

i dropped back down to just two active accounts now that my realm got connected and now no more limits on characters per realm
