Yea I pretty much only play mages until I think I have to try out some other class just to then go back to mages.
Yes, it’s very old school. I have an orc fury warrior, arms panda, and arms human warrior.
Also have a ww monk, brm monk, ret pally, and prot pally. Specializations today are so different that you might as well be playing an entirely different class altogether.
I enjoy dedicating an entire toon to a spec. For the fantasy and for the convenience.
I have at least two of all the characters I enjoy playing at 50+.
If it’s been a while since I’ve played a class I’ll relevel it. Then I’ll make the mistake of doing random achievement content and not have the willpower to delete it. I’m looking at you mister Monk.
There’s also the whole Horde vs Alliance thing. Gonna make a Worgen Monk here soon.
Multiple Priests, Mostly Shadow; My group and I were trying different roles and I was stuck with healer. Though they didn’t really trust me because I didn’t use healbot which… bares some sting cuz I knew Holy Priest. But, Shadow Priest is fun. I’ve had 3 Retribution Paladins, One I switched to Protection and Twinked for that cool PVP set from classic, and only ever 2 warlocks, this one, and another I haven’t touched since Shadowlands started.
I bare the usual 2 demon hunters, 1 I ran through all WOD content available last year, the Second Paladin was ran through MOP and WOTLK in the same year, and I bare a Mage who ran through TBC and Catat in the same year too who is now doing WOD again. I’ve got two rogues, one retired after getting the cataclysm legendary daggers, the other is starting WOTLK, and I have a monk who started Legion recently. Another monk of mine, my first is retired as well. He leveled through Legion, and seen a ton of other adventures as I quested for Loremaster.
I used to, pre-legion. Was useful to be able to do arena with different people.
Now end game is so grindy that i can’t justify it.

Legion was OK in the last patch. Decent drop-rates in raids, personal loot, bonus rolls.
Now it just doesn’t work.
I burnt out at the start of the 3rd patch lol. Never even stepped in Antorus.
I’ve got several hunters. LOL
I have a total of 22 paladins and 21 warriors, though only 1 of each at 70 now (and 13 between those two classes at 50 or higher). I have less of other classes and only a druid and evoker at 70.

My worst offence is probably 2 pandas in same class… Due to factions…

Yup…I also have locked lowbies that are pretty much copies of my current content main and alts.
I have quite a few of the specs I like of varying levels and races too.

Yes. Think i have 5 locks? More if you count all the allied races i have lvled to 50 for heritage set
Mages… go figure. I have fire and frost mages and tend to stay with a spec once a character is created. It becomes part of their personality. I can’t change specs on a whim and feel good about it, save for my druid because I think they should have all specs active all the time. They are druids FFS.
Yep, a few! I’m someone who sticks to a specific spec for one character, rather than makes a character for a class and just swaps around.
So I have two Druids (one for Feral, one for Balance), two DHs (one for full-Havoc, the other a float Havoc/Vengeance), three Mages (two Arcane, one Frost), three warlocks (Demonology, Corruption, and Destruction - can you tell I like Warlock? 
), three DKs (again, one for each spec), and two Warriors (Ret and Fury)! Probably some other duplicate classes I forgot about, but I don’t have time this morning to log in and double check.

Thematic characters ftw. Got a destro lock draped in priest stuff, like a questionable “inquisitor”. (Now if i could make chaos bolt and infernal red…)
Across servers or factions, yes. Within the same server or faction, only my bank alt duplicates a class.
