No, but that is something i hope to get ever since i narrowed down a lot what would be considered my main (or at least a small ‘‘core’’ group of mains)
That looks really nice! I had a friend who had her character 3-D printed and painted a few years ago. It looked great! The company used to advertise a lot on WoW related sites, but I haven’t seen any in a long time. I can’t recall the company name and I wonder if they are still around.
I know exactly who you’re talking about. I think it was called Figureprint? I almost got one done back in Wrath of Fenny. I feel like the technology is here to just have a friend with a 3D printer do it though haha
Yes, that’s it! I’m glad you knew it. It was driving me crazy trying to think of it. The price of 3D printing has come down so much that it might have hurt their business.
I had art commissioned once. It was the last time I joined a proper RP Guild with a storyline in mind, and therefore the last time I really cared about my character & consistency in the long-term.
Which was… 2014. Kinda makes me sad that it’s been so long since I’ve put any real time into RP.
Anyway, the art was okay. I basically just slapped it in my profile and called it a day. They did a good job, they made adjustments based on feedback and all that. Probably wouldn’t go through them again though. I think their style just ended up being a little different from what I was looking for at the end of the day – and that’s my fault for not shopping around more first. I don’t even have the art saved anywhere anymore. Even looked through the email I used at the time and don’t see it, so either I deleted it (which would be weird, since I have other stuff that old still there) or I used some other form of contact for some reason.
I actually wouldn’t mind commissioning art again, but it’s just… REALLY hard to justify spending good money on something like that when I don’t have any non-gameplay attachment to any of my characters. Even when I do get the urge to write up an RP Profile, I don’t do anything with it.
Makes it hard to provide anything substantial to have someone create art for, ya’ know?
Even on the gameplay side of things, I’m more attached to ‘Elemental Shaman’ than the actual current version of my Shaman.
A while ago I had a piece commissioned for my best friend (who plays the night elf in the picture). I sent her a framed copy in the mail for Christmas.
