Honestly no idea, just hope to find some cool people to game with. Its pretty hard though, not gonna lie. I know i have my rage moments but never try to belittle or generally be an ahole. I dont know if im just old or misremembering but i could have sworn there use to be more report features in the game. Cant even report some for leaving.
I really do like M+ just dont like this elitist culture. Raid are just as bad AOTC requirements, groups disbanding after 1 or 2 pulls and having to rebuild. It really is exhausting, spend 1 to 2 hours of prep work to play for 20ish minutes.
Literally no other point to WoW or any other multiplayer game.
Do you enjoy playing the game with others? No? Why are you playing it then? Why are you paying for it?
Only way to win this game is to have fun. Seriously. It’s a game. It’s recreation. At the end of the day, it’s a hobby, like other hobbies, to be enjoyed for as long as you’re enjoying it.
As for raids and M+, each instance is like a puzzle to be solved. Different players, different specs, plus RNG provide variables to keep it fresh and replayable. I like to think all the fast-paced puzzle-solving is good for our brains and helps stave off dementia.
M+ with friends in discord is my jam.
It’s the #1 reason I play WoW.
Maybe the real permanence was the friends we made along the way? Wow…that was some Kingdom Hearts levels of cheesy.
I think it’s ok to declare victory and find a new hill to fight on.
WoW is still mechanically a great game, but the way retail plays is not for me anymore.
I’m not a fan of in game shops and treating players like whales. The modern relationship of community and devs seems too transactional. There’s not enough passion for the game. Devs seem more interested in causes and treating WoW like a job they regret than something they love.

Fun is different for everyone. Sometimes the struggle is part of the fun. Like many others have said here, good companions is the biggest upside to wow.
This is from a non ce level raid raider. The journey to get as far as we can together is valuable in and of itself.
I’m glad this thread didn’t spiral down into a toxic sludge after I left it here. I only saw the first few posts after I made it and vanished.
It’s been a few months now and I’m coming back into it, though I heard Season 2 is going to be out in February. Not sure I want to pile drive myself back into the grind so soon, just been focusing on leveling a DK I made like a year ago that’s been on the backseat for too long.
I don’t know how hell this season has been for others but I’m sort of looking forward to the next one. I also heard housing is on the way for Midnight. 20 years later.
Either way thanks guys for your thoughts and replies, gives me somethin’ to work with while I resist the urge to become a competitive elitist again. I think I’ll slow it back and sit on the more casual bench for a bit.
I wonder wtf is with M+ all the time and its toxicity.
I never wonder about that with raiding
Being in m+ all the time i wonder wtf people are finding all the toxicity ![ ](https://d38bqls1q93fod.cloudfront.net/en/wow/images/emoji/twitter/wink.png?v=12)
I only ever hear about it with M+ from others, I don’t touch it to ever witness for myself. You see all sides though I’m sure in either one be it raiding or M+. I’ve seen my fair share of toxicity in raiding both as party and as the leader.
I’ve seen all kinds of chill people who do M+ though on the forums, so like raiding I’m sure it depends on the group and the people. You get the bad apples and the good ones.
Which is why it is good to be social in game, not discord, at least for me
Ive seen more drama first hand in a set raid group than i have in pug m+
To each their own
I 1st had this feeling at the end of classic.
I had Ragnaros’s hammer. Full T2.
God mode.
But then The Burning Crusade released.
I basically stopped playing. Stayed in Shattrath /dancing with my legendary and T2 gear.
The grind was all for nothing.
It’s called a live service game. The whole point is for there to always be something new and better.
Easy answer… The point is it’s fun.
Counter question.
Those who dont like Raid and M+ or dungeons, ever wonder maybe you are in a wrong game?
