Do you guys not have memes?!?

It’s time, that exciting time of the year where blizzcon disasters are coming and will provide us with juicy memes for years to come.

What is the most infamous blizzard meme to you and what kind of memes do you think we’re getting this year?

There’s so many like the popular
You think you do, but you don’t.

Then there’s of course the infamous
Do you guys not have phones

And the usual ones like
Soon tm
Fun detected
Aren’t you thankful?

Can anyone remember any more of those

The forges are burning hot
But then we doubled it
F that loser

I don’t think anything is more infamous than “you think you do but you don’t.” Even a lack of phones or out of season April fools jokes can’t top that.

Yeah that one takes the cake for sure, you can’t even make up that stuff. Pure gold

Follow up question, wtf is a meme?

A short quote taken as much out of context as possible that went viral on the internet

Specifically from blizzard, in this topic

A meme is an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture—often with the aim of conveying a particular phenomenon, theme, or meaning represented by the meme.
A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols, or practices, that can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals, or other imitable phenomena with a mimicked theme. Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate, and respond to selective pressures.

Proponents theorize that memes are a viral phenomenon that may evolve by natural selection in a manner analogous to that of biological evolution. Memes do this through the processes of variation, mutation, competition, and inheritance, each of which influences a meme’s reproductive success. Memes spread through the behavior that they generate in their hosts. Memes that propagate less prolifically may become extinct, while others may survive, spread, and (for better or for worse) mutate. Memes that replicate most effectively enjoy more success, and some may replicate effectively even when they prove to be detrimental to the welfare of their hosts.

A field of study called memetics arose in the 1990s to explore the concepts and transmission of memes in terms of an evolutionary model. Criticism from a variety of fronts has challenged the notion that academic study can examine memes empirically. However, developments in neuroimaging may make empirical study possible. Some commentators in the social sciences question the idea that one can meaningfully categorize culture in terms of discrete units, and are especially critical of the biological nature of the theory’s underpinnings.[9] Others have argued that this use of the term is the result of a misunderstanding of the original proposal.[10]

The word meme is a neologism coined by Richard Dawkins. It originated from Dawkins’s 1976 book The Selfish Gene. Dawkins’s own position is somewhat ambiguous: he welcomed N. K. Humphrey’s suggestion that "memes should be considered as living structures, not just metaphorically"and proposed to regard memes as “physically residing in the brain”.Later, he argued that his original intentions, presumably before his approval of Humphrey’s opinion, had been simpler.

TL:DR- Like everything on the net the term has been boiled down and corrupted to essentially mean “Funny words on pictures or overused jokes/humor not meant to be taken seriously.” Memes in general are much, MUCH broader a concept than what most knuckle-draggers think, literally the Holy Bible is a Meme, Dad jokes at large, even most profane humor are memes.

Wait that was a meme? I thought that was just some seriously myopic babble that turned into a backlash of negative sentiment towards the company.

So what OP is really asking for is how bad is blizzard going to screw themselves at this years convention?

I’ve never had a meme

WOW mobile.

Remember when people were genuinely excited about Blizzcon for the potential announcements and just the feel-good atmosphere of it? Peperidge farm remembers.

I don’t know honestly. It may have already hit critical mass and nothing funny will occur as everyone is looking for it.

With that said, another ‘do you guys not have phones?’ would give me a nice chuckle. Then a sad as I realize Blizz is long gone.
