Do you guys actually like the Path Of Ascension?

For the Kyrian out there, do you guys actually enjoy this at all? I’ve taken down the first two bosses, and it just feels lame. Playing as an NPC rather than our own character never ends well and breaks the immersion of playing your own character (to me, at least). It’s like the Brawlers guild with half the mechanics, and a quarter of the fun. Albeit, I’m still giving it more chances to actually hook me, but it and it’s rewards feel anti-climactic for supposedly being the weekly exclusive content for Kyrian.

I just switched last week and haven’t tried it yet… reading about it, it doesnt really seem very fun.
I miss the nightfae queens conservatory personally.

I don’t like the farming for mats, I will stop once I get all the rewards. But its very easy with Pelagos ranged attacks+speed boots. You never get hit.

I don’t mind it. Other than the resource grind:

It’s a puzzle game that ilvl dosent matter for it was never made to be something you out gear and roll over.

By us not playing our toons the balance can be better and as such have a puzzle that can’t be done while being equally balanced if we play our toons see the massive diff in mage tower diffs betweeen specs when they tryed that:

It dosent break immersion it enhances. You are bound at the soul level with the toons you play it is not a stretch that you can share senses and control exactly what is explained the path is. As such it is enhancing that immersion by allowing you to do exactly what soul binds are meant to and share accross your connection at the vary soul level.

To be honest, I haven’t touched it at all since the unlock quest. I haven’t even looked at it.

It offers like 7 mounts locked behind achievements from doing it + cosmetic rewards. Worth doing.

Maybe I’ll hop on it eventually, most of the mounts are recolors yeah?

Did the intro and I won’t do another. I hate vehicle combat. Shame though, I woulda liked that mog set.

Not like they couldn’t make it scale will our ilevel

yeah but very nice regardless. You can see the mounts on vendor right near the npcs to start it as well as cosmetic vendor. And they are a practically free +1 each to mount collection after 3500 anima farmed.

Name one time they have made content scale with ilvl that was perfectly equal in diff for all ilvl and classes.

I’ll wait.

You can’t as they have never done so and they won’t eap not for something that is not a core element that all players see but only a sub set of players.

Personally, I hate almost every form of vehicle combat. Especially if that said vehicle is Pelagos, I personally find him to be one of the most annoying characters introduced in SL, and a perfect example of Blizzard’s ham-fisted almost child-like method of storytelling. That being said, they limited themselves severely in terms of challenge when they decide we’re using a NPC that has 5(6?) abilities. How difficult can the mechanics be when we have set abilities, and limited interactions with these abilities? They could of put each character in determined gear set that has a baseline ilvl, reducing balance issues. They could make it make sense, say it’s a Kyrian Gladiator or Aspirant uniform.

Sure they could of but giving your char a gear set that changed there ability’s would be no different and make less sense than using the soul binds.

If you mean give you set gear but your skills no they couldent while making a puzzle as said see mage tower. The difference in classes and specs is massive unless they made a completely different one for every spec and even than balance wouldent be the same. So long as the goal is equal challenge accross the board you playing your toon with your skills is not possible. As even if the diff is made completely the same it’s not the same challenge.

Comes down to that is what they set out to make and it’s not bad as a puzzle game. If you don’t like it don’t do it they did a great job of locking nothing important behind it making it completely optional

Haven’t even bothered, tbh.

The benefits of the conduits and teleportation network seemed far more important/useful.

I’m not saying a gear set that changes ability, I’m talking a gear set that has a baseline ilvl and stats for balancing ease. I wouldn’t agree that it’s a “puzzle game” when the bosses have less mechanics than vanilla dungeons, and we have very little tools to use.

You not agreeing it’s a puzzle game just makes you wrong. A puzzle can be as simple as what’s one plus one.

Fact is it is a puzzle.

As said they can’t just set your ilvl to a set number as each class has vary different toolkits unless the challenge is made completely diff for each class but even than it’s not the same challenge. It is obv the goal was to give everyone the same challenge that is not possible so long as you use your skills.

You wanting something different is fine but that dosent make what we got any worse. The path was never sold as a unique challenge for each class but as a challenge for your soulbinda exactly what it is and they did not do a bad job at it, other than the resource gathering.

I played it once and decided its not for me. I dislike anything with the vehicle interface. Add the “go get the stuff to craft a piece of gear that might give a chance but I wont bother telling you where to get the stuff” and I am out.

That being said, I am glad its in the game. Someone else might find it cool and engaging. So I am glad there is content for those people.

I haven’t done it, but it sounds far more interesting that the queens conservatory

:frowning:

I think the Path Of Ascension is a horrible time sink. I downed the first boss and was so angry at the mechanics and such that I refuse to go back. I don’t care what the rewards are, I’m not doing this steaming diaper load minigame anymore.

Also, this. Let me play my character, please.

Not really my fault they can’t get it right. I’d still rather deal with that than the current minigame

Not really. I did the initial quest and beat the 1st angel lady, and now I have no clue how to open up more bosses, so I haven’t touched it since.
