Do You Feel Like A Hero?

Most of the time yes.

When I get creamed or one shotted, um not so much… lol

I feel like garbo in this game, especially with the lack of loot in Heroic raid. I’ve been joking saying we need to run SR sheets in our Retail Heroic pugs because I’ve gotten literally zero loot from it, but people think it’s a joke.

I’m a top healer btw, it’s not like I’m grey parsing. I’m literally bringing 200% and getting zero loot. WoW and PoE 2 have so many parallels I’m starting to think they have the same CEO.

It is kinda nice to have the main NPCs of the game treat me like I’m part of the story and am involved in defeating the evil that plagues the land.

it would be weird if all I did was stand next to the main NPCs and gain exp for fetching Thrall a Cigar or getting Jaina some bottled water when needed. Or following them around with a horse and buggy with a port-o-potty on the back for when they needed to use the bathroom.

The guy was just rude and unpleasant. I don’t need you to sing my praises but I do require you don’t act like a prick.

No and I don’t really care or want to be “the hero” in Azeroth… you don’t really do anything alone, you aren’t THE hero… you are part of a greater team and effort. Now if we’re talking something like Diablo 2, The Witcher or Mass Effect… I am the hero and I know it.

Born to bake bread in a cottage, forced to kill spiders

Blizzard only started his hero/champion crap because FFXIV was doing it.

Except FFXIV did it right, they build up you slowly from no name wanderer to saviour of the realm.

Early WoW never did anything to acknowledge your deeds. Suddenly, they started calling you hero and champion … wreaks of insincerity - especially when there is no coherent building up to it.

In FFXIV, they only treat you like a big deal after you have done great deeds like kill a dragon that they have been at war with for generations - unlike in WoW where NPCs keep stealing your kill *cough* Tirion*cough*Thrall*cough* or even have your kill taken away retroactively, see Onyxia.

I’m not sure what to think, to be honest.

Going from killing beings like Deathwing and old gods, to getting slapped around by trash mobs at the beginning of a new expansion, has always left a weird impression about our characters.

I feel like an underdog. Always and forever.

I’m a luminous golden space-wizard that flies around in a mech powered by faith.

I thought it was because he was an insufferable Sylvanas worshiper?

No, half the playerbase were insufferable Sylvanas worshippers at the time.

Neither, but if you want some extra pocket change, you could pick up a paper route in Undermine.

But they didn’t have their worship canonised by an in-game NPC.:yum:

Nahhh.

But I am sick of them and the Mary-Sue fanfic known as the plot these days, lol.
