Do you ever suddenly get bored with your main?

Has this ever happened to any of you?

Lately I just feel so meh when I play my main. Idk why. I still love the class, the theme, aesthetic etc. I just feel so bleh when I play him for some reason

I think it depends.

If I run out of goals for her, yes. If I have a mental plan like ā€˜ok gonna try a key I haven’t done before’ then I don’t.

I have, on occasion considered switching my main back to my hunter instead of my monk here, but then I feel weird like I would be doing things without him. I don’t know if I get bored exactly, but sometimes I just want to do the things with someone else. I have a lot of alts though, so if I’m in a mood and don’t want to do the chores with my main one night, I just log in with someone else and often do something else.

Like I don’t feel like doing the daily chores for the Radiant Flame, I did the first day’s quests but I took him back to undermine where he wants to be. My second in command, my hunter is now camping out in Hallowfall to do the daily chores, lol.

Overall though, I always do the most on my main, but yeah, some days I kind of wish I had a different main, but not often.

You’re asking if there are altoholics? Yes.

Yes, but then after what I call an alt-itis binge, I am reminded why Paladin is best and come back around to my main. I’m at the tail end of one of those cycles now.

I’ve been playing this game a long time, so the same combat mechanics can get boring after awhile. But there’s a good reason why I settled on this class. That might be true for you too.

I basically swap mains every season. I don’t think I’ve really felt a connection to any one class/spec to keep going for too terribly long on them.

Yes so I usually switch and play something else but the same thing inevitably happens. It’s fun for a little while then I get bored again. Think it might just be time for a break in my case.

All the time. Especially at end game. I switch characters and classes usually every month.

I have commitment issues.

Nope. The only time I got bored with my main is when I switched mains to try out a different character and was stuck for that season. I switched back and won’t switch again I don’t think. I’ve enjoyed my normal main since OG TBC. I’ve switched twice and both times I didn’t enjoy what I switched to.

going into legion really made me want to play another class

i really discovered how unga bunga fury is

Yeah, but I have a Fury Warrior and another alt to mix things up a bit!

Don’t think I really get too bored on Guuah, but it’s nice to keep things varied regardless.

I mained Druid for over a decade and got burnt out on her. I went on to play many, many alts.

I just recently went back to having a main. Not my Druid though.

I never have a single ā€œmainā€, I have a series of rotating characters I hop between depending on my mood. Been that way almost since the beginning. I will say the ones who get the most use has shifted over time though.

I love Monk but I miss Shadopan and Flying Serpent Kick

I probably always will lol

I havent had a main since Molten Core was new

Not really bored of my Warlock. What happens to me, is that when I reach max level, I feel like I should be done. I’ve never been a fan of the gear treadmill, so I don’t do endgame activities. I jump on another alt, and do parts of the story that I haven’t done yet. Unfortunately for me, patch content is often focused on max level characters.

yeah i do. then i take a break and come back to it. just like many things in life i get bored of.
:cherries:

All the time, that’s why I don’t have a main, I have MAINS (4 of them)

Sometimes, but usually it’s because I can no longer progress on my main.

To combat this, I usually have a main alt that is only a few ilvls behind my main that does another role (Ex: if my main is a melee dps, then my alt will be a ranged healer).

Being in different roles helps to understand encounters from other POVs but also lets you do something different from what your main does.
