just wondering i mean i ALWAYS… try to read the quest text until after some point it’s just like screw it this is taking too long and so i just accept it. I am a slow reader btw.
currently ive read all the quests on my toon but it has taken up a lot of time that my leveling has drastically slowed down.
Only time I read it is if I am confused about some part in the quest.
I did the first time, after that I usually skip it. Every now and then I do out of curiosity because I just want to remember something about the story, or just because I feel like it.

If it’s a story I’m interested in… especially the early quests in and around Elwynn, Westfall, Redridge and Darkshire, since they are a great primer of the early lore. Otherwise yes I try to read all of them to get the “flavor” of why I’m doing a quest but if the text goes beyond one page my old eyes and attention span can’t be bothered.
I don’t read quest text much. I’ve leveled through areas often enough that I’ve seen it before.
What I do like reading are the random clickable books, scrolls, letters etc. that can be found in the world. That is how I first learned about Arthas.
Always. No exceptions.
I don’t think I’d be physically able to complete a quest I didn’t read, the completionist in me would be screaming the whole way.
That’s… Interesting. I just assume everyone who plays WoW also plays/has played Warcraft 3. You can actually discuss specific missions with the majority of Classic’s playerbase.
if you haven’t read Jitters’ diary you haven’t played Alliance.

No, I had a friend who played and got me into Vanilla. Never played the other WC games until sometime after I started WoW.
Isn’t there a Caverns of Time instance somewhere in an expansion that takes you back to the razing of Stratholme?
Absolutely never. I just watch Nobbel videos if I want to know what is actually happening in the lore. Much more entertaining that way.
In Wrath, I tried. I really tried. I started a Tauren hunter with the intent of reading all quest text. Made it to the Barrens before giving up. I consider it one of my finest accomplishments.

same i went as orc though im nearing the end of the barrens quests but DAMN… im leveling so slow reading all these quests. that plus im a shaman lol plus i suck too i guess XD mostly play ranged but decided to go full enhancement and idk how to really play melee or enhancement shamans in classic.
good fun though melee classes imo
Not immediately when I collect them, and not if it’s a quest/quest line I’m familiar with. For instance, The Battle of Hillsbrad. I only need to check what mobs I need to kill now. But I read the ones I’m not familiar with when I go out to do them.
I read them as I have read the Chronicle Volumes so after that investment don’t want to waste it. Good books btw
ive been meaning to buy all the books and read um i have the arthas one and read the pro logue only and the Legion one but idk i can’t sit still or lay down and read a book. it makes me antsy. ironically i can sit on my PC and read small articles for days on end or like long threads. i might check out the audio versions but idk yet.
the christie goldie or w.e. her name is ones are really good so i heard i mean if the pro logues are good i think the rest will be too.
I don’t usually read them.
But I’ve played since 2004, and have leveled more than 33 characters in retail. In Classic I have 7 classes at 36 or above. So it is not very often that I take a quest that I haven’t take before.
I read enough of the text to know where to go and what to do. Sometimes I can’t figure that out from the text, and have to look it up on a fan website – wowhead or icy-veins are good.
I read Jitters’ Diary back in Vanilla, and read it again in Classic. It’s one of the best stories in the game.
Not as often as I should, until (having failed to do so) I get stuck and need to check to see what I have overlooked. The information is usually there, if not always obvious. But I get overconfident and lazy, and it bites me right in the caboose every time.
