Do you enjoy epic BGs more or less with the additions of WG and Ashran?

I used to love just playing AV and IoC, but these 2 “new” BGs are a huge buzzkill and I don’t even like to run epics at all anymore. Which means I barely like to PvP anymore.

This seems to be more or less consensus so I am not sure what Blizzard’s reasoning is.

More =/= better when we are forced to random queue to get any real reward.

I haven’t signed up for an Epic Battleground queue ever since they added the new ones. I did it for a quest and Ashran was absolute hell.

I’m growing to like WG, but Ashran is never going to be fun on anything other than a ranged.

Overall. It’s pretty much the same.

Your opinion is not a consensus.

Has there been a poll? Hard to believe it’s not considering the feedback I’ve noticed.

No, there hasn’t. Has there been one that shows support for your anecdotal data?

Like I said, I’m just basing my conclusion on my own observations.

I said it seems to be a consensus, which is not an absolute statement. You then responded with an absolute statement, which requires proof.

I’m sorry, I disagree that I need to prove that your opinion does not make a consensus.

There are tons of fans of both Wintergrasp and Ashran, and there are equally people that dislike both zones. Given that queue times have not gone up (in fact they seem to be faster for me!), I would say that there has been no noticeable impact on the queuing population.

If you only enjoy Alterac Valley and Isle of Conquest, the option for you to queue specifically for those battlegrounds still exists, why do you not do that?

Because I also want honor and conquest.

Also queue times are irrelevant. Queue times right now are no longer than Legion. That doesn’t mean the same number of people are PvPing.

But your original post says you barely like to PvP anymore?

I referenced queue times because if there was a consensus that no one liked 50% of the Epic Battleground queue and people no longer played them, queue times would go up. That hasn’t been the case thus far.

honestly epics should be hard capped at 20 minutes, whoever is winning at that point gets the win

and players shouldn’t be ‘forced’ into the epic q for conquest. Just let players q for ANY bg to get their conquests points per day.

this game has way too many things forcing players into certain content. One of the strengths of wow was always the freedom to choose your own path, according to your own playstyle preferences. That is no longer an accurate description of wow.

Terrible idea. The game has plenty of PvP activities that last 15 minutes or less. Players that want longer, larger battles finally have something they can do.

I already dismissed this entire idea but just to reiterate this is also a terrible idea. Epic Battlegrounds, more so than any other, have the highest chance of a turnaround (with perhaps the exception of Wintergrasp - an isolated problem with the map).

No one is forcing anyone to do anything. I already posted in your other thread about all the ways you can get conquest points. You can cap for the week without ever setting foot in a battleground, or you can cap by only doing battlegrounds. I don’t see what the problem is.

I want honor and conquest… without having to queue for WG and Ashran. That I spelled out pretty clearly.

Your 2nd point sounds good in theory, but it doesn’t pass the reality test since there are fewer people playing now than in Legion but queue times are not higher.

I love WG and AV. IOC isn’t too bad, but I hate Ashran in the epic queue. Current Ashran is even worse than the original Ashran. It is the only bg where you are better off leaving and taking the debuff.

I don’t like either one of them in the epic rotation. I would rather have Tol Barad in there. They should make them limited time brawls and just leave it at that.

theres normal random bgs, rated bgs, arena, and warmode.

A bit less. Ashran is way longer than an average epic. Once you start losing, it’s almost impossible to come back. It needs some acceleration.

I have no issues with WG other than the typical alliance struggles, but Ahsran, well on this subject i could not agree more, even when i manage to be in a group that wins one its still such painful experience. It’s also the WORST BG for being almost 100% ranged oriented. I get so tired of running around PVE’ing for frags when i am supposed to be in a PVP match. I am at the point where i Give my team 5 minutes and if i see it going sour, i start to “PVP” and of course that translates into death after death.

this is true, ashran is usually about 50 minutes of solid fighting, WG is either 8-10 minutes or 30, AV is typically 20-30 minutes, and IoC is usually about 20 minutes.

however, epic bgs are supposed to be long, like an hour or more, so that would mean ashran and the occasional AV turtle are the only think living up to that part of epics.

this is not true, ashran is probably the easiest bg to come back and regain offensive momentum in. however this really depends on team morale, if you have a team full of people who understand this, then a comeback can be done, and more often than not, you will see multiple comebacks from both sides in ashran. people with defeatist attitudes are poison for your team, kick them out.

Your suggestions are all terrible. If you can’t handle a BG lasting over 20 mins, don’t queue Epics.

You’re not forced to do anything Don’t queue Epics. Cap conquest via one of the other half dozen way available.

More hyperbole.

You’re free to do what you want still. The GD lies won’t fly here btw.

Now fly back to GD.
