I would like to know more about everyone’s experiences with the mythic raid.
Are you currently a mythic raider?
If so, are you enjoying the mythic raid (why or why not please)?
If you are not currently a mythic raider, please explain why not.
Thank you all for reading and I look forward to everyone’s posts.
I can start off by saying, no I am not a mythic raider.
Why? Mainly because the logistics are not something that I want to spend my time on.
What does this mean? Well, I don’t want to schedule myself around this game. WoW is a game, it is a hobby that I enjoy in my leisure time. If I feel like not playing, I would like the option to say “hey, I want to not log on the game today and that is okay.”
Here is an example - what if I didn’t sleep well the night before and wasn’t able to go to the gym before work. So then I would like to go to the gym after work. But what happens if that is one of my scheduled mythic raiding nights? Well I would be out of luck and have to skip my exercises that help me to be a healthier and happier person - mythic raiding just is not worth giving that up.
Another issue that has arisen last tier in Nerubar palace is the items/renown that give you more dmg in the raid. In order to get this renown, you have to full clear the raid. Well, what if your guild has extended lockouts in mythic and you don’t full clear anymore? Well, you have to go with a pug and clear heroic normal or LFR. These lower difficulties are trivial and boring - they would be a waste of my time, just another chore. In a world where mythic raiding already requires so much extra time, I am not willing to put in the extra effort to reclear heroic or normal or LFR.
Also here is another reason why I don’t want to join the mythic raiding community - I like to switch mains when I want. If you join a raid guild, you are locked into that one character for at least multiple months for the season. You may even be forced to play that character next season, too. Additionally mythic raiding guilds may force you to change to a class you don’t want to play.
