XD So it’s a monk, warrior and mage. I think there’s enough about that makes it different on many point to make it standalone, it’s fine that some class share some similarities if they clearly don’t function like the other one. Blademaster obviously a martial class which means not a mage with illusion/arcane techniques.
Yes , hunters started a bit this way with arcane shot and mana but it’s now far away. A magical archer or arcane archer basicly shoot elemental or ligh/shadow based arrows with a lot of situational effects and aren’t pet based. It’s basicly comparing a warrior to a dk or a paladin. The magical archer weave magic in each of his shots.
This request is a skipping record even though we have unholy DK’s that pretty much have this covered. Furthermore, to go along with “matching the story of the expansion” all DK specs are getting more/returned necromancer type abilities. Nothing can make ya stop wanting, but your chances continue to drop.
Yes i do Death knights are nice and all but I’m tired of having to be a m ele necromancer I want to be a pure necromancer… with a staff or scythe in the back ground
also I want one because i want banshee move sets so dark ranger is a must and must have a banshee spec …
finnaly I’d like some kinda yin/yang class for example one that is expert on combing two very diffrent natures like life and death and weaponizing it
I’m hopin’ for a legit Necromancer. Could use Blood Magic for a healer spec. Maybe the Covenants (particularly the Necrolords) can teach us a new form of Necromancy usin’ Anima.
I think that DK’s are most certainly one form necromancer. After all, necromancy is traditionally seen as a ‘death magic’ that involves using the dead as a weapon. Undead dk’s seem to fit that mold pretty well.
That being said, I don’t understand why it has to be the only form that necromancy manifest itself. It seems perfectly reason able to have another necro spec that is more caster focused.
Sometimes I feel like my DK isn’t dark enough. As it is, I have this issue of dressing too much like Elvira vs. Nazgûl.
The class fantasy feels superficial. At least the old DK starter zone gave me a sense of how wicked I am.
Now, it’s like…poof, welcome to the new Lich King club…soft drinks in the fridge…skating rink out back…and we play Bingo with Sixth Senses on Tuesdays.
If they were to add a new class I think it would be cool to have something like a blademaster who uses magic to influence the environment to help him. So fights with a sword/polearm in melee but rips chunks of rocks from the ground to fire at his enemies, make the earth shake under their feet, etc. Defensive could be to have stone shields rise from the ground to block all attacks for 8 seconds.
Then have a ranged bow spec as well. Escape mechanic could be to rip a platform of ground from under his feet and raise him into the air. Could fire different kinds of ammunition.
Edit: for those who get the reference, picture Demanded fighting Galad and Gawyn
Blizzard is doing a terrible job making the current available classes both fun and engaging. Just let it go at this point. Fix the broken things first before we ask for more.
Yes, I would like a new ranged class. We haven’t got a new ranged class since the game was released and we’ve actually lost one because Survival hunter was changed to melee.
I mean, attempting to res Tirion, one of the greatest champions of the light, as one of the four horsemen by busting into the Paladin Class order hall and murdering people is pretty damn dark.
Part of me wanted tinkers because it would have been a great fit for Mechagnomes? but then there’s engineering as a problem, also, what would they bring to the table that other classes don’t.
Another part of me wants bards because they’re pretty cool in other games (LOTRO, for example has minstrels) and it would be my wife’s dream class. But same issue: what would they do differently, from say, a resto shaman/mw monk, and for dps, how would they differ to a mage?
I can’t really think of any other classes that are different enough and not already covered in the existing classes. DnD and Pathfinder have interesting classes/archetypes but WoW did a good job covering the bases. Only thing not covered are mentalist type classes, and I dunno how WoW would introduce telepathy/telekinesis and that sort of stuff.
IMO, class balance/design first, then maybe a new class.
