I loved how the place looked before being over run with undead and id love to see it go back to the way it was before the scourge.
It should’ve been already. Still burning for more than 20 years.
Should’ve been rebuilt and become a new beacon for rebuilding the East Wield for the Lordaeron Kingdom.
Seems like alot of places are stuck in time. You’d think they would progress all the zones and have chromie be for people who want to experience everything the way it was back in that specific expansion.
On the Eastern Kingdoms map the area that represents Stratholm borders Ghostlands…the area might be spruced up as soon as Midnight along with the rest of Quel’Thalas.
What did we learn from Pet Cemetary and Poltegeist?
Just dont, you’ll regret it.
I kinda expect them to. Maybe not rebuild, i have a feeling they’ll kick that can down the road and it will still be full of undead and on fire again. But signs seem to point to them doing some sort of reverse-cataclysm sometime.
There is a lot of content and questlines that should be continued. I agree re Strat but have it named as another dungeon so we can still do the original if we wish too.
Who would rebuild it? The forsaken are not into rebuilding so much as squatting in ruins, and the blood elves can’t even rebuild their own city.
The various paladin groups that tried to cleanse and rebuild the plaguelands keep getting wiped out and/or distracted by other world ending problems every time they start to make any progress.
The Alliance would probably be willing to do it if they could have people live in the rebuilt city, but I doubt the horde would let them.
But the real reason is that it would be a lot of dev time for something with small returns. Unless there is a narrative reason, like a patch of an expansion focusing on the area it is unlikely to be given any dev time.
It should. Stratholme is one of the holy sites of the Church of the Holy Light, and it was the founding site of the Order of the Knights of the Silver Hand, and holy seat of Archbishop Alonsus Faol. It is a very important location for the faithful.
It also serves a strategic function, as the jewel of the north, a wealthy port city, and a centre for oil refinery in the north.
But unfortunately the flames of Stratholme burn perpetually, they are magical in nature. It will take some time before the city can be restored, and it shall be the living Lordaeronians who do it.
All the undead Lordaeronians can do is blight, blight, blight, they are no better than the Scourge. Everything they touch melts away, they are no different from Arthas. Only the living Lordaeronians can restore Stratholem and the great kingdom.
Midnight, the expac after TWW is supposed to come with a northern EK overhaul. So it should be part of that. Though for all we know they will use it for a dungeon again, just updated graphically and re-themed depending on the Midnight story.
Honestly, they have been building the Scarlet Crusade story so much recently it wouldn’t surprise me if they are the ones who have rebuilt it and we go in to clean them out.
That would be a cool bit of world progression. I’m still waiting for stromgarde to be fully established as a proper city as well.
I know itll never happen, but i wish we got an old world update. Its time to un-cataclysm EK and Kalimdor. I know it would be a big undertaking, but it could be done in phases. Make the old world an expansion agnostic leveling experience for each race. It can always scale to just before the current expansion
The entire Lordaeron region could use alot of work. The UD/worgen/BE working to cleanse Lordaeron of whats left of the Scourge. Split up the zones so each race gets a 3 or 4 zone experience all about rebuilding the ravaged northern half of EK. Maybe the UD can have reclaimed strat as a capital or something.
Same thing for the NE’s having a nice experience in the new zone in dragon isles, darkshore, ashenvale and Hyjal. All about rebuilding their way of life.
There no reason to have 14 year old tornado in westfall js. Just make yhe old world something that can grow with the game, instead of feel stuck in 2010.
It could, but should it?
I’m genuinely tired of Human architecture and the same old blue/red/yellow/orange roofs
That would be nice.
With time walking, I feel, we should get our cake and eat it too. Why not go back far enough to see it’s former glory.
It’s worth pointing out that Alonsus is now a Forsaken and seems to be otherwise unaffected by it, still acting much the same as he did when he was among the living. Or is he still ‘no better than the Scourge’ simply because he’s now undead?
While that would make sense and a lot of people hope for it, Blizzard has in no way confirmed that’s going to happen.
Just want to make sure people temper their expectations.
Varodoc is a hardcore Alliance forum roleplayer.
It’s best to not pay him too much attention and don’t expect sensical conversation.
Entirely Correct.
I thought it had been confirmed. I guess they never actually said, everyone just assumed since Midnight centers around Quel’thalas and the Sunwell that they would have to include more of the EK since there really isn’t enough landmass in the Blood Elf zones, for an entire xpac, even if they opened up the Troll lands beyond Zul’Aman.
Regardless, even if it isn’t confirmed, I think there is a good chance they will revamp the Eastern Plaguelands at least. Otherwise they are going to have to pull some new landmass out of their backsides just to have enough zones for an expac.
It did kinda come off that way to me, but I’ll admit it’s my first time meeting them and I didn’t want to assume anything.
