Do we really need 5 instances per hour now?

As many know, you may 10 instances per hour on retail. You can enter 5 instances per hour on Classic… but do we really need this limitation anymore? With the new daily cap is there any reason to keep the hourly cap?

I can already hear people saying “no changes”, but let me remind you… originally in vanilla there was no instance limit at all. The five per hour limit was added at some point in the middle of vanilla.

to be fair - if instances are limited at 30 per 24 hrs - so it really matter how many you do on a “per hour” basis — the end result in a 24hr period is the same.

Yea, because if they remove the 5/hr way more people are going to hit the 30/day cap and realize how awful it is to actually hit.

In your haste to post a “zinger” I think you forgot to read the actual post you are responding to. Having no hourly instance cap is authentic to vanilla, but has no parallel in retail.

Allow me to quote Tuskamus. I assume you’re familiar with them:
“The five per hour limit was added at some point in the middle of vanilla.”

WIth the 30/day cap in place 5/h has no real merit, but to slow you down and make you play for a longer period of time…

Wait…

Isn’t that what people were trying to claim the 30/day cap was for… to stop exploitative players being in dungeons for so long of the day… poor babies need to go outside and all that jazz… They should be in full suport of a removal of the 5/h cap…
