I think Explorer and Veteran gear tracks are largely superfluous and could probably be smushed into one.
Not really. The tracks come from specific levels of content and are not random. You get the level of gear from the content you do. Do world quests? You get Adventurer gear with Veteran from boxes. Do mythic raids? Get mythic gear.
Obsession with BiS gear doesn’t need to be rewarded, if anything it should be spit on by the devs.
Getting a lower ilvl version of a good trinket is not some kind of letdown, it means one slot is locked in for the season unless a much better item drops. That’s good. It doesn’t mean you NEED a higher ilvl version, let alone deserve it.
OP’s basically asking for M0 grinding specific bosses to become a thing. No.
I know but it blows the whole effort argument out of the water… blizzard is addicted to time gating and I honestly think it leads to poorer experiences for it.
Eventually anyone not in the race is going to realize the proper way to progress the raids is to wait till the last month of the expansion.
I mean there clearly is with the great vault. I don’t even know what it is your trying to argue but I assume its for the sake of arguing unless you have something to add.
I’m a lite player now a days so take this with a. grain of salt. I had by far the most fun in the mist remix gearing up my character. Running dailey stuff to get something to upgrade my gear.
Having a way to run reg content and get something that allows me to upgrade a gear from one track to another Or get rid of tracks all together and drop something that allows me to keep upgrading my gear passed our current track would be great.
If you love running raids you can run those for the gear ups. Love Mythics? Run those. Love solo stuff you can do that too and ilvl up.
Why run hard content? Achieves and mogs and you can hit cap quicker. You can drop the high ivl gear from them and then people would have a quicker time hitting the ilvl cap then someone who just run delves.
It really feels like I hit a wall and lose any reason to run stuff for a season. Use a season to try it and if it sucks then we dont have to try it again.
The tracks are basically because of low drop rates. It’s much easier to grind a specific item in a low difficulty and upgrade it, compared to hoping it drops in the higher difficulty.
They could probably get rid of tracks if upgrades cost like twice as many crests.
Speaking of this, why is it not a thing where getting a tier piece automatically unlocks all the lower track appearances of that tier piece? I.e. if you get a Hero tier piece, you should automatically unlock the Champion and Veteran (Normal/LFR) appearances as well. I think that’d be a huge QOL improvement.
